The new documentary, Interview with a Serial Killer, offers a shocking and intimate look into the life of notorious murderer Arthur Shawcross. Shawcross, also known as the Genesee River Killer, was responsible for the murders of 11 people in Rochester, New York over a nine year period in the 1980s and 90s. This highly anticipated film goes beyond the headlines and draws on exclusive interviews with Shawcross himself to tell his story.
Shawcross was sentenced to life in prison without parole for his crimes, but what makes this documentary truly unique is that it also features interviews with his daughter Margaret Deming. Despite not discovering who her father was until 2000, she has formed a relationship with him that has gone beyond merely father-daughter – he is even grandfather
to her seven children.
In Interview with a Serial Killer, viewers are granted an unprecedented level of insight into the mind of a killer. It also explores how a family can be affected by such terrible events; how Deming coped throughout her childhood; and ultimately how she made peace with her past in order to form a connection with her estranged father.
It’s an emotion-filled journey through time that exposes raw truths about one man’s secrets and the ripple effect they had on those around him. In this revealing documentary, viewers will find themselves asking difficult questions about the nature of humanity – and what it means when we face our darkest fears head-on. Be sure to watch Interview with a Serial Killer – you won’t regret it!
