Zootopia 2 brings back Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, while Ke Huy Quan voices Gary De’Snake, the newcomer at the center of the sequel’s mystery. Here is Disney’s confirmed principal cast, returning supporting roles and selected cameos. It is not an exhaustive list of every voice in the film.
Who voices the returning leads?
- Judy Hopps — Ginnifer Goodwin. Judy is a ZPD officer whose new partnership with Nick is tested as they investigate the mystery.
- Nick Wilde — Jason Bateman. Nick returns as Judy’s partner. The sequel picks up after the first film, when the pair have only recently begun working together.
Writer and director Jared Bush described the relationship as one that still has room to develop: “In the first film, they were partners for about 48 hours, so there’s a lot more they need to learn about each other.” (Walt Disney Company, September 29, 2025.)
Which new characters join the cast?
| Character | Voice actor | Role in the story |
|---|---|---|
| Gary De’Snake | Ke Huy Quan | A pit viper whose arrival draws Judy and Nick into the central mystery and brings reptiles into the foreground. |
| Nibbles Maplestick | Fortune Feimster | A new character connected with the Marsh Market. |
| Pawbert Lynxley | Andy Samberg | A member of the prominent Lynxley family involved in the mystery. |
| Mayor Winddancer | Patrick Warburton | A charismatic but clueless stallion, according to Disney. |
| Dr. Fuzzby | Quinta Brunson | A quokka therapist who helps Judy and Nick. |
Gary is the plot-driving newcomer. Producer Yvett Merino described him as someone who “really, truly believes that the world can be a better place and that he can right the wrongs of the past.” (Walt Disney Company.)
Which supporting actors return?
- Chief Bogo — Idris Elba. The ZPD chief returns.
- Benjamin Clawhauser — Nate Torrence. Clawhauser is also named simply as Clawhauser in some Disney coverage.
- Gazelle — Shakira. The pop star returns and performs the original song “Zoo.”
Who appears in confirmed cameos?
- The Bearoness and EMT Otter — Yvette Nicole Brown. Disney confirms Brown for both cameo roles.
- Paul Moledebrandt — Josh Gad. The mole is a ZPD IT expert.
- Jesús — Danny Trejo. Producer Yvett Merino identified Trejo’s character as a basilisk lizard.
- Ed Shearin — Ed Sheeran; Baalake Lambkin — Blake Slatkin. The pair appear in a special cameo.
Disney’s broad description also mentions Anika Noni Rose among cameo performers but does not assign her a character in that passage, so her role is not listed here.
