Which Allure feature is this?
The title refers to Allure’s “Zoë Saldana: Her Allure Photo Shoot.” The magazine’s feature page is dated May 13, 2013, and the shoot appeared in its June 2013 issue. Allure’s separate behind-the-scenes video has its own date: April 26, 2013. The dates refer to different publications, not a contradiction. Allure’s photo feature and the video page document the session.
What do the photographs and captions establish?
Allure describes Saldana as stripping down for the shoot. One caption identifies her posing in a gold cuff by H.Stern; other captions credit Levi’s jeans and a Gucci silk satin top. These are details credited in the original editorial, not proof that any current product listing is connected to or can recreate the photographs.
The cover-image caption describes makeup artist James Kaliardos’s natural-look approach: black liquid liner, cream eye shadows in gold, brown, and beige, peach blush, nude highlighter, and peachy-pink gloss. Allure also credits hairstylist Garren and says he used Garren New York Designing Spray Tonic while styling Saldana’s natural curls. Those are historical styling credits, not current product recommendations. Allure’s captions and feature provide the credits.

What Saldana said about the shoot
In Allure’s behind-the-scenes video, filmed at Milk Studios, Saldana says: “We are in New York City at Milk Studios, and this is the first time I’ve ever shown so much of myself on a shoot.” She also says, “I felt so beautiful and very well directed and very well taken care of.” These are her remarks in the video transcript, rather than descriptions added by later coverage. The video also records Saldana naming red lipstick as something she always carries: “An item that I cannot live without that’s always with me is red lipstick.” She encourages women to find the right shade of red.

Don’t confuse it with the 2016 Allure shoot
Allure later published a separate story about a 2016 cover shoot. That is a different session from the June 2013 issue feature, with different photographs and context. Allure’s 2016 cover-shoot story is useful only for distinguishing the later feature; it should not be used to identify the 2013 images.
