YouTube Music began rolling out queue synchronization in January 2026, letting a listening session carry between the service’s Android and iOS/iPadOS apps and its web player when they’re signed in to the same account. It can spare you from rebuilding a queue on another device, but it is not a guarantee that separate queues will merge—or that your phone can remotely control every other player.
What YouTube Music queue sync does
The reported change connects the active listening session across supported devices. When you open YouTube Music elsewhere, the miniplayer may show the last track played on the other device, sometimes with a temporary label such as “From your iPhone” or “From your browser.” Selecting the track can resume that session and bring its Up next queue along. Exact labels and availability may vary by app version, account, and rollout stage. 9to5Google and Android Central reported the behavior in January 2026.
This is distinct from playback-position syncing, which was reported earlier, in July 2025: carrying a track’s progress between devices does not by itself mean the full upcoming queue follows too. It is also different from account-level listening history and recommendations, which do not prove that a particular active queue is shared. Android Authority describes the distinction between playback progress and the newer queue behavior.
Which devices are covered
January 2026 reporting identifies the core queue-sync group as the YouTube Music apps on Android and iPhone/iPad, plus the web player in a desktop browser. Google’s help pages describe broader YouTube Music availability, but do not specifically document every queue-sync combination. Do not assume that a TV, game console, smartwatch, car interface, smart speaker, or third-party integration shares the same editable queue.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
YouTube Music separately supports casting and other integrations. Those are useful, but a cast session is not the same as a cloud queue shared among all signed-in devices. Google’s device and integration help covers casting and connected services; it does not confirm identical queue behavior across them.
How to pick up a queue on another device
- Update YouTube Music on your Android phone or iPhone/iPad.
- On the first device, sign in to the Google/YouTube account you intend to use elsewhere, start a song, album, playlist, mix, or radio station, and arrange the Up next queue as needed.
- On the second device, open YouTube Music—the mobile app or desktop web player—and confirm it is signed in to the same account.
- Look in the miniplayer for the last track or a source label such as “From your iPhone” or “From your browser.” Tap or click the displayed track to resume the session.
There is no documented user-facing setting or setup wizard for enabling queue sync. Reports describe a rollout, so an updated app and matching sign-in do not guarantee that every account will see it immediately.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
The important catch: queues may replace, not merge
Available reporting and user observations suggest that YouTube Music favors the most recent listening session. For example, if you build a 20-song queue on your phone and then start a different track on your laptop, the laptop’s session may become the queue shown when you return to the phone. The service is not documented as merging two independently built queues, and starting playback on another device may supersede the earlier one. 9to5Google’s report and user observations describe this latest-session behavior.
That trade-off matters if you use separate queues for work, commuting, or home listening. A queue appears to represent the active session, not a permanent archive. If you need to preserve a particular sequence, save it as a playlist before switching devices. A household member using the same account may also change the active session, so one shared sign-in can make queues unpredictable.

Is queue sync included with YouTube Music Free?
Google’s public support documentation explains Premium benefits across supported devices, but does not clearly state that queue synchronization itself requires Premium. Some users report that the feature was unavailable or stopped working after a Premium subscription ended; that is user-reported evidence, not confirmation of a Premium-only rule. Google’s YouTube Music help page covers general availability and Premium benefits, while subscriber reports describe uncertainty around access.
YouTube Music’s general free, ad-supported availability should not be confused with Premium-specific benefits such as ad-free listening, background play, and offline playback. Google’s documentation does not establish that an offline queue syncs in real time. A queue containing downloaded tracks may behave differently on a device without those downloads, and offline edits may not propagate until a device reconnects. Check the session while online before relying on it during travel.

Queue sync is not Spotify Connect
Cross-device session continuity does not establish universal remote control. It may let you reopen a session on another device, but the available reporting does not show that a phone can always control a separate desktop player, TV, speaker, or car session in real time. Casting is a separate feature: it sends playback to a compatible device and can provide controls, but it is not proof that every device shares one cloud-backed queue.
Likewise, the reported Android, iOS/iPadOS, and web support should not be stretched to every YouTube Music integration. Google lists services such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Wear OS separately in its integration documentation; that list does not establish that each endpoint edits or synchronizes the same queue.

What to check when the queue does not appear
- Check the signed-in identity: Confirm both devices use the same Google account and YouTube channel. A family plan, separate Google accounts, or shared playlists do not establish a shared live queue.
- Update and reopen the app: Install the latest available YouTube Music version, then force-close and reopen it. Google recommends current app versions in its support documentation.
- Refresh the original session: Start playback on the first device, wait briefly, then check the second. A gradual or account-based rollout may mean the feature is not active for your account yet.
- Test a straightforward source: Try an album or playlist while both devices are online rather than beginning with a radio station, offline queue, or cast session. Those other playback modes may behave differently.
- Sign out and back in if needed: If the account and app are current but the session remains stale, sign out of the second device and sign back in before testing again.
- Protect a queue you care about: Save it as a playlist before switching devices; do not rely on the active queue as a durable backup.
If the wrong queue appears, another device may simply have started playback more recently. If only the current track’s position transfers, the account may have playback-progress continuity without the newer queue behavior, or the device may be outside the most reliably reported Android/iOS/web group. Casting can also introduce content that is not normally available in YouTube Music; Google notes that such content may disappear after disconnecting. Google’s casting help explains the integration separately.
What is confirmed—and what is not
Reports published January 25–27, 2026 describe a rollout to Android, iOS/iPadOS, and web, including miniplayer indicators for the originating device. Google’s public help pages confirm broad device access, Premium benefits, and integrations, but the available official documentation does not provide a dedicated explanation of queue synchronization.
- Reported: The active queue and session can carry between Android, iOS/iPadOS, and web.
- Suggested by reports and user observations: The latest session can take priority over a queue built on another device.
- Not established: A Premium requirement, a universal opt-out, real-time guarantees, a permanent queue archive, or identical support for every TV, car, watch, speaker, and third-party integration.
