Verifying a Brand Account does not, by itself, confirm that live streaming is enabled for the channel you want to use. YouTube verifies a phone number for a specific channel. In YouTube Studio, select the intended channel and check its feature eligibility; then confirm the person verifying it has the right role and that no recent live-stream restriction applies.
Check the channel that needs access
- Select the intended channel in YouTube Studio. A Google login can have access to more than one channel. Confirm you are looking at the Brand Account channel you want to stream from, not another channel associated with the same login.
- Open its feature eligibility. On a computer, go to YouTube Studio > Settings > Channel > Features. YouTube’s help page directs creators to this area to see currently available features and start phone verification if needed. Labels may vary slightly by locale or interface revision. YouTube’s guide to feature verification
- Check the live-streaming status shown for that channel. Phone verification and access to the feature are related, but the channel’s displayed eligibility is the practical check. If Studio offers phone verification, complete it through the option shown there.
Make sure the verifier has the right role
YouTube’s role rules differ by channel type. For a Brand Account channel, an owner or manager can verify a phone number for its channel. For a channel that is not a Brand Account, only the channel owner can do so; managers, editors and viewers cannot. If verification was attempted by someone without the required role, have an eligible person complete the flow for the intended channel. YouTube’s phone-verification and feature-access guidance
Check restrictions and streaming method
Recent live-streaming restrictions
YouTube’s general live-streaming eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. If Studio indicates a restriction, phone verification alone will not resolve it. Check the restriction information shown for the channel and follow YouTube’s guidance. Mobile streaming has additional requirements
The requirement of at least 50 subscribers applies to live streaming from the YouTube mobile app; it is not a universal subscriber threshold for webcam or encoder streaming. YouTube also says the first mobile live stream may take up to 24 hours to start after live streaming is turned on. If the feature was just enabled, allow that activation period before treating a mobile-only failure as proof that channel access is unavailable. YouTube’s mobile live-streaming requirements

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Webcam and encoder
YouTube lists webcam and encoder streaming as methods alongside mobile streaming. The mobile subscriber condition and first-stream wait described above are mobile-specific; do not apply them automatically to webcam or encoder access. Check the selected channel’s Studio eligibility and the method-specific message you see when trying to go live. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance
Troubleshoot in this order
- Studio shows a different channel: switch to the intended Brand Account channel, then inspect its feature eligibility there.
- Phone verification is unavailable or did not take: confirm the person attempting it is a Brand Account owner or manager. For a non-Brand Account channel, the verifier must be the channel owner.
- Verification is complete but live streaming is still unavailable: check the channel’s own feature status and whether it has a live-stream restriction within the past 90 days.
- Only the mobile app fails: check the mobile-specific minimum of 50 subscribers and, for a newly enabled feature, allow up to 24 hours for the first mobile stream to start.
- All checks appear satisfied: record the exact error, the selected channel and the feature status shown in Studio. YouTube’s public guidance does not establish one universal backend fix for every channel-specific failure, so use those details when seeking channel-specific help.
What verification does—and does not—tell you
YouTube’s phone-verification guidance says that verifying a phone number for a channel provides access to listed features, including live streaming. The wording concerns verification for the channel, not simply verification of a Google login or Brand Account identity. The decisive next step is to check that channel’s feature eligibility in Studio and account for its role, restriction history and streaming method. YouTube’s feature-verification guidance

If the issue is that a documentary stream needs to stay live after access is available, StreamNeo is a separate YouTube-only option for looping uploaded videos—not a way to bypass YouTube’s channel eligibility checks.
