If it buffers or switches back, check whether your device’s connection and Wi-Fi can sustain that quality, then run MyJio diagnostics. “Bitrate” is not a viewer-side setting: you can choose playback quality, but you cannot change the broadcaster’s encoded bitrate.
1. Select a higher quality in YouTube

Open the live stream on a computer and move the pointer over the player.

Select Settings (the gear icon), then Quality.

If YouTube offers the resolution you want, select it. The available choices depend on the stream; a live broadcast may not offer every resolution.
If the higher setting plays smoothly, the issue was the player’s selected quality. If playback buffers, turns blurry, or falls back to a lower setting, continue with the connection checks below.

2. Check whether your connection can sustain the selected quality
YouTube’s approximate sustained-speed guidance is a useful comparison, not a guarantee for a particular live stream, device, or JioFiber connection. Other people or devices using the same network can reduce the bandwidth available to your player.

These figures are YouTube Help guidance; the page does not state a publication date. They describe approximate sustained connection speeds, not a minimum plan speed that guarantees a particular live stream will play at that resolution.
3. Isolate Wi-Fi and device issues
Try another device and reduce competing use
Play the same stream on another device connected to the same JioFiber network. If only one device has trouble, the issue may be specific to its connection or playback. Pause heavy downloads or other high-bandwidth activity where practical, then check the stream again.
Improve the Wi-Fi path

Move the playback device closer to the router.

Reduce obstructions and sources of interference between the device and router.

Minimize competing devices on the network while testing.
YouTube’s guidance recommends checking device proximity, interference, obstructions, and concurrent network use when playback is slow.
Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet, if supported
If your playback device has an Ethernet port, connect it to the router and try the same stream again. Jio’s user guide recommends wired connections for streaming video. If Ethernet works better, that points toward a Wi-Fi limitation on the device’s usual path; it does not prove that the ISP or YouTube delivery is at fault, nor does a wired test fix those possibilities.
4. Run JioFiber diagnostics

Open the MyJio app and use Run Diagnostics for your JioFiber connection.

Review any reported issue with network health, router status, Wi-Fi strength, or device connectivity.

Follow the app’s troubleshooting steps for the specific alert. Jio says diagnostics can identify issues such as weak Wi-Fi, an offline router, loose cables, speed drops, or configuration errors.
If diagnostics point to weak Wi-Fi coverage, consider improving coverage or using compatible coverage equipment. Do not assume an extender is needed unless the Wi-Fi finding supports it.
5. When the problem persists
YouTube notes that “Network congestion and other factors may also cause live programming issues, which can delay the stream.” A low-resolution live stream alone does not establish that JioFiber is throttling YouTube or that there is a Jio outage.

If several devices on your network have the same problem, note when it occurs and save the MyJio diagnostic results.

If other services also perform poorly, include that detail when contacting Jio support.

If only one live stream is affected, while other streams or services work, the cause could involve that stream or its delivery; the checks here cannot identify it conclusively.
The available official guidance does not confirm a current JioFiber outage, a Jio-specific YouTube bitrate cap, or an account-specific fault. Share the time, affected devices, and diagnostic results with Jio support if the issue continues.
