Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →For a 1080p, 24fps YouTube Live stream, use YouTube’s 1080p/30fps live bitrate range as a starting reference—not as an exact 24fps specification: 5–14 Mbps for H.264 or 4–10 Mbps for AV1 or H.265. YouTube does not publish a separate live bitrate row for 1080p/24fps. Choose a stable bitrate your upload connection can sustain, test with representative footage and audio, and check YouTube’s stream health before relying on a film playlist.
Recommended settings for 1080p 24fps YouTube Live
If your prepared film is 1080p at 24fps, sending it at that resolution and frame rate is a reasonable choice when your encoder and connection can maintain it reliably. YouTube’s live encoder table does not list 24fps; the closest listed reference is 1080p/30fps. Treat its figures as practical starting guidance, not a published 24fps target. YouTube’s recommendations were accessed in 2026; its help page does not state when the recommendations were originally published. YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance
| Encoder codec | Closest listed live reference | Minimum shown | Recommended range |
|---|---|---|---|
| H.264 | 1080p/30fps | 5 Mbps | 5–14 Mbps |
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC | 1080p/30fps | 4 Mbps | 4–10 Mbps |
The minimum is not a separate recommended target: YouTube’s recommended ranges begin at those listed minimums. Choose within the relevant codec range according to what your connection can sustain consistently. Higher bitrate is not automatically better if it causes instability or dropped frames.
Encoder parameters that matter
- Rate control: Constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: Set a two-second interval; YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds.
- Ingest protocol: RTMPS is YouTube’s recommended protocol; RTMP is also listed.
- Video codecs: H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 are listed. Use the bitrate guidance for the codec you actually send.
- Audio: AAC or MP3. For 5.1 audio over RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube supports AAC only.
See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for its current table and settings guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to choose and verify your bitrate
- Confirm your outgoing format. Set the encoder to 1920 × 1080 at 24fps if that matches your prepared source and can be sent reliably. YouTube’s guidance allows up to 60fps, but does not specify a separate bitrate for 24fps.
- Choose the matching codec range. Use the H.264 or AV1/H.265 1080p/30fps row above as your starting reference. Do not treat the 1080p upload figure as a live-stream setting.
- Check upload capacity under realistic conditions. Test the connection you will actually stream from, and leave enough headroom for it to remain stable. A bitrate that fluctuates or saturates the connection can undermine the stream even if it falls within YouTube’s range.
- Run a private or unlisted test where possible. Include audio and moving footage similar to the playlist. YouTube specifically recommends testing with similar audio and movement before going live.
- Review stream health. Watch YouTube’s stream-health messages during the test and broadcast. If it reports problems, investigate connection stability and encoder output before raising the bitrate.
Film footage may contain less motion than sports or gaming, but YouTube does not publish a special film adjustment or a 24fps-specific multiplier. Let a representative test—not an assumed discount for low motion—guide any adjustment.
Do not use the upload bitrate as a live target
YouTube’s separate upload guidance lists 8 Mbps for 1080p SDR at standard frame rates (24, 25, and 30). That figure applies to uploaded videos, not live encoding; it does not replace the live codec ranges above. YouTube Help

Choose latency for the audience, not the film frame rate
Latency controls the delay between the live feed and what viewers see; it does not provide a different published bitrate recommendation for 1080p/24fps. If viewers need to interact in real time, lower latency may be useful. If a film playlist has little audience interaction, reducing delay may matter less.
- Lower latency means a smaller playback buffer and can increase buffering for viewers.
- YouTube says most viewers on low latency see under 10 seconds of delay, while most on ultra-low latency see under five seconds.
- Low- and ultra-low-latency options do not support 4K.
Compare the tradeoffs in YouTube’s guide to live-streaming latency.

Make sure a film playlist is cleared for live streaming
Having access to a public YouTube film or playlist does not establish that you have the rights to rebroadcast it as a live stream. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can lead to a placeholder replacing the stream, an interruption, or termination. Even if you have a licence, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the stream to proceed without matching interruptions. YouTube explains this in its copyright guidance for live streams.
Resolve rights before scheduling a playlist. This is a platform-handling summary, not a jurisdiction-specific legal determination.
