For a compatible 720p30 YouTube Live stream, start with 1280×720 progressive video, H.264, CBR at 8 Mbps, AAC stereo at 128 kbps, and a two-second keyframe interval. With audio included, that is about 8.13 Mbps before protocol overhead; YouTube recommends 20% upload headroom, so aim for roughly 10.2 Mbps of consistently available upload capacity or more. Your Airtel plan’s advertised speed is not a guarantee of what your connection can sustain during a broadcast.
Recommended YouTube Live settings for 720p30
Use this as a compatibility-first starting profile for a Marathi recording or other prerecorded video streamed live. YouTube’s live encoder guidance recommends 8 Mbps for H.264 at 720p30 and lists 3 Mbps as the minimum. These are live-ingestion recommendations, not separate YouTube upload-video settings. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.

YouTube says not to exceed a four-second keyframe interval; its troubleshooting guidance also identifies an incorrect interval as a possible stream problem. Details: encoder settings and live-stream troubleshooting.
How much Airtel upload speed do you need?
The 8 Mbps video plus 128 kbps audio profile totals about 8.13 Mbps before protocol overhead. Applying YouTube’s recommendation to leave 20% upload headroom gives a practical target of about 10.2 Mbps of consistently available upload capacity. This is a calculation from YouTube’s guidance, not a guaranteed threshold for every encoder or connection. YouTube notes that the total bitrate sent must fit within available upload bandwidth, that other people and devices sharing the network affect capacity, and that upload speed can be lower than download speed. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

Airtel’s broadband plans advertise “up to” speeds. Its current ₹999 fiber plan page lists up to 100 Mbps upload and download, with availability varying by location; the plan’s maximum is not a measurement of your connection during a stream. Check the subscribed plan and test upload speed from the actual streaming location and setup. Airtel plan details: Airtel broadband.
If your measured upload capacity is lower
Do not configure the stream to consume nearly all the measured upload capacity. Reduce the bitrate or resolution, then test again while leaving headroom for protocol overhead and other network use. YouTube’s 720p30 table also lists H.264 at 3 Mbps minimum; that figure is not a promise of good results on every connection. If your encoder reliably supports AV1 or H.265, YouTube lists 6 Mbps recommended and 2 Mbps minimum for 720p30 for those codecs. H.264 remains the simpler default when compatibility is the priority.

Set up the encoder and YouTube stream
- Enable live streaming on your YouTube channel. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go live and complete any channel setup or verification prompts YouTube presents. Availability and prompts can vary by account.
- Create or schedule the live stream. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create a stream or open the scheduled event. Set the title, visibility and other event details before broadcasting.
- Copy the stream key into your encoder. Use the stream key shown for the event in the encoder’s YouTube streaming destination. Treat it like a password: do not publish it or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Enter the profile values. Set 1280Ă—720, 30 fps, H.264, CBR at 8 Mbps, a two-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. Choose RTMPS if available, and use progressive scan, square pixels, Rec. 709 and 8-bit for SDR where the encoder offers those controls.
- Test before the public event. If practical, run a private or unlisted test. Confirm that YouTube receives 720p30, check Marathi speech or music for clarity and synchronization, and look at the Live Control Room’s stream-health messages.
- Go live and monitor health. Start the encoder, confirm the preview and stream-health status in YouTube Studio, then start the public broadcast when the feed is ready. During the stream, respond to warnings rather than assuming the connection will remain stable.
Looping a Marathi video: audio, rights and testing
The language of a narration or song does not change YouTube’s bitrate settings. A mostly static loop may be less demanding visually than fast-moving footage, but do not lower bitrate just because the image seems simple; test the actual video and listen to the actual Marathi audio. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the live event.
Make sure you have the rights or permissions needed for every video, song, recording and other material in the loop. YouTube’s copyright systems and policies still apply to live streams; prerecorded material is not exempt. Review YouTube’s live-stream guidance and the applicable YouTube policies before broadcasting. A technically healthy stream does not establish that the content complies with copyright or monetization rules.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsConnection choices and common problems
Use the most reliable connection available to the encoder. YouTube advises reserving upload headroom and accounting for other users on the network. A wired Ethernet connection from the encoder computer to the router is a sensible optional choice, not a YouTube requirement; check that the devices have compatible ports or use an appropriate adapter.
| What you see | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Buffering, dropped frames or unstable stream health | Available upload bandwidth is below the stream’s total bitrate, or other network use is reducing capacity | Measure upload capacity during likely stream conditions, reduce bitrate or resolution if needed, and leave headroom. See YouTube’s streaming tips. |
| YouTube reports a keyframe or encoding warning | Keyframe interval or another encoder value does not match the live recommendations | Set a two-second interval and verify resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate in both the encoder and stream-health panel. See YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance. |
| Audio is hard to hear or out of sync | Encoder audio configuration or source playback differs from the tested setup | Check AAC stereo, 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz, then test the same loop and audio source before the event. |
| The connection works in a speed test but the stream still falters | A speed test is a point-in-time result; network sharing or changing conditions can reduce sustained upload capacity | Retest at the streaming location and time, limit competing upload use, and avoid relying on download speed or an “up to” plan figure. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a prerecorded YouTube loop live continuously, StreamNeo is the cloud alternative: upload the video or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It keeps looping without a computer, OBS or home connection staying on. Each slot streams what you uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card (one free day per account). Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or start the free day.
