To send a prerecorded Hindi program from vMix to YouTube, create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, copy that stream’s URL and key into vMix’s streaming settings, choose compatible output settings, then start the encoder and check YouTube’s preview. Before you configure the stream
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Check the channel’s eligibility in YouTube Studio before planning a broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming help
- Have the authorized prerecorded program ready to play through vMix. RTMP setup sends vMix’s output; it does not by itself create a looping playlist or determine how playback restarts after an interruption.
- Use the vMix version and streaming application installed on your system. The vMix v29 guide says the default FFMPEG installation supports H.264 video and AAC audio; options can vary with the installed version and selected application. vMix v29 streaming guide
- Confirm that you have rights to the program, soundtrack, and all other material in the stream. A successful encoder connection does not establish that you have permission to broadcast the content.
Create or schedule the stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and choose Create → Go Live.
- Create a new stream, or open the Manage tab to schedule one. Scheduling provides a watch page that you can share in advance; viewers may also request a notification.
- Open the stream’s settings and copy the displayed stream URL and stream key. Use the values for this specific stream configuration rather than an address copied from an unrelated tutorial. Treat the key as a password. YouTube describes stream keys as the stream’s “password and address.” Do not show it in screenshots, chat, public documents, or recordings. If it is exposed, a channel owner or manager can reset it in YouTube Studio; replace the old value in vMix before reconnecting. YouTube: Manage live stream settings
Enter YouTube’s endpoint in vMix
- In vMix, click the gear icon beside the Stream button to open the streaming settings.
- If YouTube is offered as a provider and its account connection works in your installed build, select it and complete the available connection flow.
- Otherwise, choose Custom RTMP Server. Paste YouTube’s stream URL into the URL field, then paste the stream key into Stream Name or Key.
- Choose a quality profile and the streaming application. The vMix v29 guide identifies FFMPEG as installed by default and documents H.264 video with AAC audio support. Confirm the actual choices shown in your installation.
- Save or apply the settings. Keep the stream key private in vMix and avoid capturing it in any screen recording.
The provider route may reduce manual entry, while Custom RTMP makes the endpoint and key explicit. Whichever route you use, verify the URL and key against the current Live Control Room stream and check that YouTube receives the expected preview.
Choose protocol, resolution, and bitrate
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP, when it is available in the selected configuration. The YouTube encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1, frame rates up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), AAC or MP3 audio, and a two-second keyframe interval; it says not to exceed four seconds. vMix’s v29 default FFMPEG guide documents H.264/AAC, so that is a supported baseline in that documented setup. These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not measured minimums or guarantees. Set the output to match the program and the sustained upload capacity available to the encoder. YouTube advises that outbound capacity exceed the total stream bitrate and recommends 20% headroom. For example, a 10 Mbps video bitrate needs more than 10 Mbps of available upload capacity, with additional capacity reserved for headroom and other network use. Start the encoder, preview, and monitor
- For an immediate stream, start streaming in vMix after entering the endpoint and applying the settings.
- For a scheduled YouTube event, start the vMix encoder and wait for the incoming preview in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Check the preview, stream health, audio, and video. Confirm that the prerecorded program is playing as intended and that sound is present at a suitable level.
- When the scheduled stream is ready, click YouTube’s Go live action. Encoder connection and public broadcast are separate steps for a scheduled event.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a 12-hour-or-longer or 24/7 broadcast will be archived as one video. What changes—and what does not—for a Hindi channel
The reviewed YouTube and vMix setup instructions use the same encoder URL-and-key process; they do not identify a Hindi-specific RTMP setting. Put Hindi-language details such as the title, description, and audience information in the content and metadata workflow, not in the URL or key fields. This does not determine which language options YouTube may offer elsewhere in Studio.
For a prerecorded program, vMix sends its production output to YouTube. Whether the program should loop, how it should restart after a dropped connection, and whether the broadcast is a scheduled event or continuous output are separate operating decisions. Test those behaviors with the installed vMix version before relying on them for unattended playback.

Rights, restrictions, and monetization
- Confirm your rights to every included documentary segment, music track, and other media. YouTube’s stream setup guidance also calls for ensuring trailers do not infringe others’ content and points creators to its Community Guidelines. YouTube live-stream settings and preparation
- Successful RTMP ingest is not proof that content is cleared, and it does not guarantee that a stream will avoid a copyright claim or restriction.

Troubleshooting common connection problems

Can I leave a 24/7 vMix broadcast running and rely on YouTube’s archive?
