How do I stream devotional songs live on YouTube 24/7?
YouTube’s Live Control Room and an encoder can send a continuous programme, but a 24/7 schedule is not the same as one uninterrupted, reliably archived 24-hour session. YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If platform archives matter, schedule successive sessions that finish before the 12-hour mark and retain a local recording.
1. Check channel eligibility
Your channel must be verified and must not have a livestream restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube says streamers must be at least 16 years old. Check the channel’s current access in YouTube Studio before preparing a long-running broadcast.
2. Create the stream and protect its key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to enter the Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream into your encoder’s streaming settings.
- Treat the stream key like a password: it is the credential the encoder uses to send video to your channel. Do not share it publicly. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
3. Select a practical video mode
For a still image or simple devotional visual, 720p at 30 frames per second is a reasonable starting point. Consider 1080p30 if the encoder and upload connection can sustain it reliably. These are practical starting points inferred from YouTube’s bitrate guidance, not a YouTube-prescribed devotional preset or a tested guarantee. A higher resolution uses more upload capacity and data; for a mostly static image, stability may matter more than extra detail.

4. Configure the encoder
YouTube recommends RTMPS for secure delivery. Its encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1; constant bitrate (CBR); up to 60 frames per second; and a two-second keyframe interval, with a maximum interval of four seconds. AAC or MP3 audio is supported. For stereo audio, YouTube lists 128 kbps at 44.1 kHz.
- Video codec: H.264 is a straightforward choice; YouTube also lists H.265/HEVC and AV1.
- Rate control: CBR.
- Keyframes: every two seconds; do not exceed four seconds.
- Audio: stereo AAC at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz is a sensible YouTube-aligned starting point. Listen to a test for low volume, distortion or clipping.
5. Reserve upload bandwidth
YouTube’s recommended H.264 video bitrates are 6 Mbps for 720p30 and 10 Mbps for 1080p30. YouTube recommends leaving about 20% headroom above the total outgoing bitrate. That means the connection must have capacity beyond the video setting for audio, network variation and any other outbound traffic. A backup encoder sending a second feed also adds to total outbound use.

Run an upload-speed test and account for other devices sharing the connection. A result from a quiet moment does not guarantee the same capacity during a long broadcast. If the feed drops frames or loses connection, lower the resolution or bitrate until the upload link can sustain it with room to spare.
What bitrate should I use for a 24/7 YouTube live stream?
Use the bitrate that matches your codec, resolution and frame rate, then confirm the upload connection can sustain the total outbound rate with headroom. For H.264 at 30 fps, YouTube’s listed recommendations are 6 Mbps at 720p and 10 Mbps at 1080p. These are video bitrates, not a promise that a particular network will deliver a stable stream.

Test the broadcast and monitor it
YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the planned start. Use that lead time to confirm the preview appears in Live Control Room, check access from a phone or the watch page, and listen for audio problems. Keep an eye on stream health during the broadcast rather than assuming a successful start means the connection will remain stable.
If you configure a backup encoder, test failover by stopping the primary feed, as YouTube advises. A 24/7 schedule also needs someone or a system to notice interruptions, restart sessions, and verify that local recordings are being written and remain usable.

Can a YouTube live stream run longer than 12 hours?
A stream can run longer than 12 hours, but YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. If you need a YouTube archive, plan successive sessions that each end before 12 hours rather than relying on one long session. Also make a local recording and check that it is growing during the broadcast.
Can I play Hindi bhajans on YouTube Live without copyright issues?
Not automatically. Devotional subject matter or familiar lyrics do not establish that a particular sound recording is free to livestream. Rights attach to the specific recording and the uses permitted for it.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. Detection can lead to a placeholder image, interruption or termination; claims may also be made against an archived livestream after it ends. Even if you have a licence, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID for the live use to proceed without interruption.
- Confirm permission for the particular sound recording, not just the devotional composition or lyrics.
- Check that permission covers livestreaming, retaining an archive or VOD, and the territories where the stream will be available.
- Ask the rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted through Content ID.
- Do not assume a successful live broadcast means the retained archive will be free of claims.
YouTube says Partner Program members can monetize livestreams, but monetization depends on channel eligibility and rights clearance. Neither is guaranteed by the type of music being played.
