How to stream it on 7plus
On a computer or phone
- Open the direct 7plus episode page.
- Check that the title shown is Wicked: One Wonderful Night.
- Select the play button.
- If 7plus asks you to sign in, log in or create a 7plus account.
7plus is a free, advertising-supported service. “Free” means there is no subscription charge for the stream, not that the programme is ad-free. You may also incur your usual internet or mobile-data charges. Seven says on-demand programming generally contains less advertising than broadcast television, but advertising remains part of the viewing experience. See the current 7plus free-access guidance and advertising FAQ for the service’s conditions.
On a smart TV or streaming device
Open the 7plus app on a supported television or streaming device and select the special. If the app displays a connection code:

Seven’s current TV-app instructions require viewers to connect a 7plus account before watching video on supported television applications. The account is free; it is not a separate paid membership. Account registration also enables features such as continuing a programme across devices and receiving personalised recommendations. Requirements can vary by device and content path, so it is safer to say that you may be asked to sign in on a browser or mobile device, and should expect an account to be required on a TV app—not that an account is never necessary.
Supported viewing options include current web browsers, mobile devices, selected smart TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast with Google TV, Fetch, Foxtel IQ, Hubbl, Fire TV and PlayStation devices, subject to Seven’s current supported-device list.
What is Wicked: One Wonderful Night?
Wicked: One Wonderful Night is a concert and variety television special led by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. It was created around the release of Wicked: For Good, the second feature film in Universal’s Wicked adaptation, which opened theatrically on 21 November 2025.
The special was filmed at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre and combines live performances with interviews, behind-the-scenes material, reworked choreography, film clips, surprise appearances and previews connected with Wicked: For Good. The principal performers include Grande, Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode. The music is supported by a 37-piece live orchestra conducted by Stephen Oremus, according to the official special and soundtrack announcements from NBCUniversal and Republic Records.

The officially released live soundtrack provides a useful guide to the major performances. Its 10 tracks are:
- “Overture / No One Mourns the Wicked” — Ariana Grande
- “The Wizard and I” — Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum
- “What Is This Feeling? / Dear Old Shiz” — Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande
- “Popular” — Ariana Grande, featuring Remington Glass
- “I’m Not That Girl” — Cynthia Erivo
- “Dancing Through Life” — Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater and Marissa Bode
- “Thank Goodness” — Ariana Grande
- “Defying Gravity” — Cynthia Erivo
- “Get Happy / Happy Days Are Here Again” — Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande
- “For Good” — Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, recorded at the Gershwin Theatre
The album tracklist should not be treated as a guaranteed frame-by-frame running order for the television edit. It does, however, identify the main musical material associated with the filmed event. The official live soundtrack was released on 7 November 2025 and is also listed through Apple Music.

How long is the special?
NBC and Seven promoted Wicked: One Wonderful Night as a two-hour television event. That description includes commercial time and the programme’s broadcast presentation. Current streaming metadata lists the actual on-demand programme at approximately 84 minutes.
The safest expectation is therefore an event marketed in a two-hour broadcast slot, rather than 120 minutes of uninterrupted concert footage. The 7plus player is the final authority on the current video and its runtime.

When did it air in Australia?
The Australian premiere took place on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at 8 p.m. on Channel Seven, with the special also made available through 7plus. That live broadcast is now historical; the practical option for viewers is the catch-up episode on 7plus.
The U.S. premiere was earlier, on 6 November 2025, on NBC, followed by Peacock availability in the United States. Peacock is therefore relevant to U.S. viewers, but it is not the Australian streaming answer. Australian listings currently point to 7plus as the local service, with JustWatch’s Australian catalogue page providing corroboration.
Can Australians watch it outside Australia?
Officially, no. 7plus says its content is available only within Australia because of broadcast-rights restrictions. The service also says it does not support VPNs, proxy services or location-spoofing tools. Viewers travelling overseas should not rely on international streaming guides that recommend a VPN as an endorsed way to access the Australian listing.

If you are physically in Australia but receive a location error, disconnect any VPN or proxy and try again. The relevant 7plus overseas-access policy explains the geographic restriction.

“Not available in your location”
Confirm that you are physically in Australia. Disable VPN, proxy or location-spoofing software, then reload the page. Seven’s service is geo-restricted and does not support those tools for bypassing its location checks.
7plus reports an ad-blocker problem
Disable the browser’s ad blocker or any network-level ad-blocking software and reload the episode. Because 7plus is funded by advertising, an ad blocker can prevent the player from starting. Seven provides instructions for disabling an ad blocker for 7plus.
The TV app will not sign in
Use the connection process at 7plus.com.au/connect, making sure you are signed in to the correct account. If the code fails, sign out and back in on the phone or computer being used to enter it, request a new code on the TV, and try again. The official TV sign-in guide covers the current steps.
The app or title is missing
Check that the device is supported and that its operating system and 7plus app are up to date. Alternatively, try the direct episode page in a current web browser or use a supported mobile device. Searching for the full title rather than only “Wicked” can also avoid confusing this special with the films and other Wicked listings.

The episode has disappeared
Check both the direct 7plus page and the Freeview listing. Freeview currently gives 18 November 2026 as the expiry date, but catch-up rights can be revised. If the 7plus page no longer plays the programme, it may have left the Australian catalogue even if older articles still say it is available.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is this the Wicked movie?
No. The titles are easy to confuse:
- Wicked: One Wonderful Night: a concert and variety television special featuring Grande, Erivo and members of the film cast.
- Wicked: the first feature film in the two-part movie adaptation.
- Wicked: For Good: the second feature film, promoted by the television special.
- The stage musical: the original live theatre production, which is not what 7plus is streaming here.
The special includes performances, interviews, choreography, behind-the-scenes content and promotional film material. It is not a substitute for either feature film or a complete recording of the stage musical. The soundtrack is a separate audio-only release: it contains the live songs but not the concert footage, interviews, visual staging or film previews.
Is 7plus the best option?
For viewers in Australia, yes. 7plus is the locally listed and currently available route, costs no subscription fee, and offers the programme on demand with advertising. Its disadvantages are the ads, possible account prompts, Australia-only access, device compatibility requirements and a catch-up window that is not permanent.
Channel Seven was the original broadcast outlet, but the live premiere has passed. Peacock is the U.S. option described in NBCUniversal’s announcement and should not be presented as an Australian service. Unofficial uploads are not a reliable or legitimate alternative; while the title remains available, the official Australian route is 7plus.

Frequently Asked Questions

No paid subscription is currently required. 7plus carries the special free with advertising. You may still use mobile data or incur ordinary internet charges, and a 7plus account may be requested depending on how you watch.
Best Value
Can I watch the special without a 7plus account?
Do not assume that an account will never be required. Seven’s current guidance makes this device- and content-dependent, and its TV applications require viewers to connect a 7plus account. Browser and mobile access may also present a sign-in prompt.
Can I watch 7plus from overseas with a VPN?
7plus is officially restricted to viewers in Australia and says it does not support VPNs, proxies or location-spoofing services. The Australian listing should not be treated as an officially supported overseas option.
Is the official soundtrack the same as watching the special?
No. The live soundtrack is an audio-only release with 10 tracks. It does not include the filmed performances, interviews, choreography, behind-the-scenes material or film previews available in the television special.
