The offer was real, but it has expired. In 2023, eligible Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers in the United States could claim a promotional Peacock trial—reported as about 60 days of Premium or Premium Plus access—in time to stream WrestleMania 39. The event took place April 1–2, 2023, and the reported claim and redemption deadlines passed that summer. It is not a current Game Pass benefit.
What the Xbox and Peacock promotion offered
This was a limited-time Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk, not a permanent feature bundled with every Game Pass plan. Perks are promotional benefits that can rotate and have their own claim dates and eligibility rules. Contemporary reports described this one as a two-month, or roughly 60-day, Peacock trial for Ultimate members in the U.S. Pure Xbox’s report covered the offer and its U.S. availability.

Descriptions were not fully consistent about the tier name: some called it Peacock Premium, while the headline and historical offer listing referred to Premium Plus. Those are distinct Peacock tiers, so it is safest to describe the promotion as a Peacock trial and note that contemporary listings identified it as Premium Plus. The exact archived offer terms—not the wording of every headline—would have governed an individual account.

WrestleMania 39, billed as “WrestleMania Goes Hollywood,” was a two-night event. Peacock’s official schedule listed Night 1 for Saturday, April 1, 2023, and Night 2 for Sunday, April 2, both beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern / 5 p.m. Pacific, with kickoff programming earlier. In the United States, Peacock was the event’s exclusive streaming destination.

An eligible subscriber who activated the trial before the shows could therefore use it to watch WrestleMania 39 without paying Peacock’s subscription fee during the promotional period. That did not make Game Pass itself free: an active Ultimate membership was the prerequisite, and Peacock account and promotion rules still applied.
Who could claim it—and why some accounts could not
The historical offer was aimed at active Game Pass Ultimate members in the U.S.; it was not reported as available to every Game Pass tier or in every country. The promotion listing also indicated that existing Peacock Premium or Premium Plus subscribers were excluded, and a valid payment method may have been required. Eligibility could depend on account history, location, whether the code had already been used, and Peacock’s own promotional checks. Having Ultimate did not guarantee that every account would qualify.
Contemporary deal records reported a June 30, 2023 claim deadline and a separate redemption deadline of approximately July 7, 2023. These are historical dates reported in the offer listing, not current Microsoft or Peacock policy. The event itself had already taken place by the time either deadline arrived.

How redemption worked in 2023
Contemporary instructions described a process along these lines; the exact labels could vary by device, app version, and region:
- Sign in to the Xbox Game Pass app with the Microsoft account holding an active Ultimate subscription.
- Open the Perks section and find the Peacock offer.
- Select the Perk to reveal or generate its promotional code and follow the activation instructions.
- Use the code or activation link with a Peacock account, supplying payment information if requested.
- Check the Peacock account’s plan details for the trial end date and renewal terms.
If the offer did not appear at the time, possible reasons included a non-Ultimate or expired membership, an unsupported region, prior redemption, Peacock account ineligibility, or an expired claim window. Today, the simplest explanation is that the promotion ended: the specific Peacock Perk should not be expected in the current Perks list.

“Free” referred to the promotional Peacock subscription period for people who met the requirements. It did not mean there was no account requirement, that payment details could never be requested, or that Peacock would necessarily stop billing automatically when the trial ended. Under Peacock’s terms, promotions may have supplemental eligibility conditions, and a subscription can renew at the then-current price unless canceled according to the applicable terms.
The historical offer was reported with a post-trial price of about $9.99 per month, but that figure should not be treated as today’s price. If you activate any current Peacock promotion, check the price and renewal date shown in your own account, then cancel through the billing provider before renewal if you do not want a paid subscription. Uninstalling the app does not itself cancel a plan; confirm that the account shows cancellation or an end date.

That current description should not be read as a complete historical specification of the 2023 Perk.
Can you claim it now?
No. The reported 2023 claim and redemption windows are long past, and WrestleMania 39 is no longer a live event. Do not buy or renew Game Pass Ultimate expecting to unlock this Peacock trial. Current Peacock plans and WWE programming are separate from the old promotion; check Peacock’s current WWE page for what is available now. Peacock’s displayed plan prices were $10.99 monthly or $109.99 annually for Premium and $16.99 monthly or $169.99 annually for Premium Plus when checked on August 18, 2026; prices and catalog availability can change.
