The available weight figures come from Bautista’s own accounts as reported in interviews, not from a continuous record of independent measurements.
How to read Batista’s body transformation in photos
Photos can show visible differences in size and conditioning, but they cannot establish an exact weight, body-fat percentage, diet, or training routine. The timeline below pairs each period with the available context and identifies when a figure is Bautista’s approximate personal account. For publication, use images dated to the event or publication shown, with verified image credits and licensing.
Photo timeline: from WWE conditioning to acting roles
2009: a broader WWE training program
In a WWE interview published May 14, 2009, Batista discussed changing his training after his fifth injury in seven years. He said he was working harder, particularly on cardio, and described a program that went beyond lifting: “I do a lot more stretching, endurance work and agility training. It’s a more well-rounded athletic program beyond straight weight and cardio training.” The interview documents his stated approach at that time; a photograph from the period should not be used to infer an exact weight.
Circa 2014: adjusting for Drax
Bautista told WIRED in 2014 that he had dieted down while pursuing acting roles, then asked James Gunn whether he wanted him to bulk up for Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy. Bautista said Gunn requested about 10–15 pounds and that gaining it took about a month. This is an approximate first-person account of a role-specific adjustment, not a full training or nutrition plan.

Longtime lifting and the move into acting
GQ’s profile of Bautista describes his years of weightlifting and his transition from WWE to acting. It provides background for the longer arc, but it is not a year-by-year measurement record. A photo from this phase can illustrate the career shift; it cannot fill in missing body measurements.
Knock at the Cabin and the later reduction in weight
In 2024 coverage of an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Bautista’s weight was reported as about 315 pounds for Knock at the Cabin and about 240 pounds after he trimmed down. Those are approximate figures attributed to Bautista through the interview coverage, not independently verified measurements. He said that trimming down made him feel better and look better on camera; that describes his experience, not a general health claim.

September 2026: training for Kratos is still in progress
According to The Daily Beast’s September 3, 2026 report, Bautista posted: “3rd week into weight training again,” followed by “2 more months to get to where I need to be. Like ridin’ a bike!” The post described a current effort and estimated timeline for reaching his Kratos target—not a completed transformation. The same report summarized an earlier account as about 75 pounds lost over roughly three years; that summary is not an independently measured statistic.

What the timeline does—and does not—show
- It shows changing role contexts: WWE conditioning, a requested adjustment for Drax, weight reported around Knock at the Cabin, and training preparation for Kratos.
- It does not establish continuous measurements: the available accounts do not provide an independently verified, year-by-year record of Bautista’s weight or body composition.
- It is not a fitness prescription: his comments concern his own career and preparation, not a universal approach to changing weight or physique.
