Bautista said he had trimmed down to about 240 pounds by the time of the 2024 interview coverage. Comparing his reported figures of about 315 and about 240 pounds suggests a difference of roughly 75 pounds. That is arithmetic based on his approximate, self-reported weights—not a verified record of the amount or timing of his weight change.
What motivated him to slim down?
His stated motivation was how he felt he appeared in films, rather than a medical reason reported in these sources. Bautista said, “The more I trimmed down the better I looked on camera and the better I looked next to other actors.” He explained that the larger size did not feel comfortable to him, while a leaner look suited how he wanted to appear on screen.

What did Bautista say about training and calories?
He described training hard and limiting his calorie intake: “I’m training hard, not only training hard, but my calories are pretty restricted.” The interview does not provide a complete workout schedule, daily meal plan, clinical plan, or a named product he used. It therefore supports a brief account of what he said he was doing, not a detailed or reproducible weight-loss regimen.
What his later training update does—and does not—show
A September 2026 report about preparation for a later role quoted Bautista’s Instagram caption: “3rd week into weight training again. 2 more months to get to where I need to be.
