This is a subjective ranking of four major WWE women’s singles championship designs: the historic Women’s Championship, the Divas Championship, and the titles introduced for Raw and SmackDown in 2016. I weigh visual distinctiveness, ornament, how clearly each belt identifies its title, and historical significance. WWE’s official records establish title histories, not a definitive ranking or a complete inventory of every physical belt revision, so this is a judgment of the major title designs—not a claim that every strap or plate variant is represented.
How the ranking works
The order below favors designs that feel distinctive and tied to a meaningful chapter in WWE’s women’s division. Historical importance is one factor, not a substitute for visual appeal; a title’s lineage or name change alone does not prove that its belt was redesigned. Fan preferences differ, and there is no official best-to-worst order.
1. The historic WWE Women’s Championship
The historic Women’s Championship takes the top spot for the weight of its identity and place in the division’s history. Its design represents a distinct lineage that preceded the modern brand-specific titles. WWE records that Michelle McCool unified this championship with the Divas Championship on September 19, 2010. That transition did not erase the historic belt as a separate design from the ranking.

2. The Divas Championship
The Divas Championship ranks second: its strongest distinction is its identity as a separate championship era, rather than as another name for the historic Women’s Championship. WWE says the two titles were unified in 2010, with McCool becoming the first Unified Divas Champion. That lineage makes the Divas belt an essential part of a design ranking even though it did not remain a separate championship after the unification.

3. The 2016 Raw Women’s Championship design
The Raw Women’s Championship ranks third for its role in the 2016 brand-era reset and its connection to a continuing main-roster title lineage. After the 2016 Brand Extension Draft, WWE says the WWE Women’s Championship was renamed the Raw Women’s Championship. The title returned to the WWE Women’s Championship name on the June 9, 2023 edition of SmackDown. Those naming changes do not, by themselves, establish separate belt designs, so this ranking treats them as one lineage rather than inventing extra entries.

4. The SmackDown Women’s Championship design
The SmackDown Women’s Championship ranks fourth, while still earning a distinct place for its identity as the women’s title introduced for the blue brand after the 2016 draft. WWE says the championship was introduced for SmackDown and its first champion was crowned at Backlash. The title was renamed the Women’s World Championship on the June 12, 2023 edition of Raw. That is a continuing lineage, not evidence by itself of another belt redesign.

This list is limited to major WWE main-roster women’s singles title designs. It does not attempt to inventory NXT or NXT UK designs, or every physical revision of a belt. A related WWE vault retrospective describes Layla and Michelle McCool splitting the Women’s Championship belt in a storyline and notes that WWE recognized Layla as the official champion. The broken belt is a memorable story artifact, not necessarily a lasting official redesign.
