WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is now a Peacock-exclusive live stream in the United States. The change ended the recent arrangement in which the special aired on NBC and was simulcast on Peacock. It did not mean that WWE left NBCUniversal entirely, and it did not move every major WWE event to Peacock. Instead, WWE separated the recurring Main Event specials from its larger Premium Live Event package, which is moving to ESPN platforms in the U.S.
What changed for viewers?
U.S. viewers can no longer count on watching Saturday Night’s Main Event through a free over-the-air NBC broadcast. Peacock is the exclusive U.S. live-streaming and on-demand destination for the series under a multi-year agreement announced on August 20, 2025.
The first Peacock-exclusive U.S. installment was scheduled for December 13, 2025, and was promoted as featuring John Cena’s retirement match. The agreement calls for four primetime Saturday Night’s Main Event streams per year.
In practical terms, the viewing answer is straightforward: U.S. fans need access to Peacock for the live presentation and the available on-demand episodes. Program availability, plans and pricing should be checked directly with Peacock because those details can change.

Why did Saturday Night’s Main Event move to Peacock?
The move was part of a broader reallocation of WWE’s U.S. media rights rather than a simple cancellation of the NBC broadcast.
On September 17, 2024, WWE and NBC announced the revival of Saturday Night’s Main Event as quarterly primetime specials airing on NBC and simulcast on Peacock. That version began on December 14, 2024.
Less than a year later, WWE and ESPN announced that ESPN platforms—including ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service—would become the exclusive U.S. domestic home of WWE Premium Live Events beginning in 2026. WrestleMania and other major main-roster events are part of that larger package.
Saturday Night’s Main Event is a recurring television special, not one of WWE’s main-roster Premium Live Events. The separate Peacock agreement allowed WWE and NBCUniversal to retain the series as a quarterly streaming property even as the Premium Live Event rights shifted to ESPN.
Peacock has the series—but not every WWE marquee event
This distinction is the most important part of the rights change:

- Ultra-speedy streaming: Roku Ultra is 30% faster than any other Roku player, delivering a lightning-fast interface and apps that launch in a snap.
- Cinematic streaming: This TV streaming device brings the movie theater to your living room with spectacular 4K, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision picture alongside immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
- The ultimate Roku remote: The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro offers backlit buttons, hands-free voice controls, and a lost remote finder.

- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
| What you want to watch | U.S. destination under the announced arrangements |
|---|---|
| Saturday Night’s Main Event | Peacock, exclusively for the U.S. live stream |
| WWE Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania | ESPN platforms, beginning in 2026 under the WWE-ESPN agreement |
Therefore, a Peacock subscription or other Peacock access does not automatically provide the new U.S. home for every major WWE event. Conversely, the ESPN rights agreement did not remove Saturday Night’s Main Event from Peacock.
When are the Peacock specials airing?
The original Peacock announcement described a schedule of four primetime installments each year. Peacock’s catalog had listed three 2026 episodes as of August 12, 2026:
- January 24, 2026: The first listed 2026 episode. Peacock’s description highlighted a Fatal 4-Way match to determine a No. 1 contender.
- May 23, 2026: WWE’s Fort Wayne event was promoted as streaming live exclusively on Peacock in the United States.
- July 18, 2026: WWE’s Madison Square Garden event streamed live on Peacock in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally, according to the event listing.
The schedule shows that the Peacock version remains a marquee WWE production rather than an ordinary weekly television episode. WWE has continued to attach championship implications, major names and arena-scale events to the specials.
The July event promotion included matches and appearances involving CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Sami Zayn, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria, Danhausen, JD McDonagh, Paige, Brie Bella, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley. Match cards can change, so viewers should use the current Peacock or WWE event listing for the final lineup.
What about Sunday Night’s Main Event?
WWE announced its first-ever Sunday Night’s Main Event for September 6, 2026, also scheduled to air live in the United States exclusively on Peacock.

That announcement suggests the Main Event special concept may expand beyond Saturday nights. It should not be interpreted as a renaming or discontinuation of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The two names describe separate scheduled specials unless WWE announces otherwise.
How can U.S. viewers watch?
- Confirm that you are using the U.S. Peacock service.
- Make sure your Peacock access is active before the event begins. The official service page is the best place to verify current plans, availability and any live-event restrictions.
- Search Peacock for Saturday Night’s Main Event or open the WWE section.
- For a live broadcast, select the event listing at its scheduled start time. Afterward, look for the episode in Peacock’s on-demand catalog.
Peacock’s WWE page describes every Saturday Night’s Main Event as available on the service, while its program page lists the 2026 episodes. Exact interface labels and availability can vary by device and can change over time.

Where can international viewers watch?
International distribution is territory-specific. WWE’s July 18, 2026 event listing identified Netflix as the international streaming destination, while Peacock’s exclusivity applies to the United States.
That does not establish Netflix as the universal home in every country. International fans should check the event-specific WWE listing or their local WWE and Netflix availability before assuming that the same platform applies to their territory. Rights can differ by country and by event.
What this means for WWE fans’ streaming bills
The immediate consumer consequence is access fragmentation. A U.S. fan who wants both Saturday Night’s Main Event and WWE’s major Premium Live Events may need to track two different services:

- Our best Wi-Fi: Enjoy fast, smooth TV streaming in any room in the house with our best Wi-Fi or choose
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your streaming device
- Private listening: Plug headphones into the Roku remote with headphone jack or use a wireless pair
- Video Output / Resolution: HD, 4K UHD - up to 3840 x2160 (4K)
- HDR / HDR-Format Support: HDR + Dolby Vision
- Peacock: The U.S. live and on-demand home for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
- ESPN platforms: The announced U.S. home for WWE Premium Live Events beginning in 2026.
The available research does not disclose the financial value of the Peacock deal, its precise contract end date or every territory covered by the agreement. It also does not justify claiming a particular Peacock price, guaranteed availability period or universal WWE catalog on the service.

Yes—but only as an archival product, not as a way to watch the current Peacock specials.
The Best of Saturday Night’s Main Event is a three-disc collection released by World Wrestling Entertainment in 2009. Retail descriptions identify more than 30 matches, interviews, vignettes and other segments from the program’s historic run, especially its original 1980s and early-1990s era.
Fans looking for the show’s history may want to compare the current streaming specials with The Best of Saturday Night’s Main Event DVD. The collection does not contain the 2025 or 2026 Peacock-exclusive episodes, and its price, seller, edition and stock should be verified before purchase.

Streaming is the ordinary way to follow the series, but WWE has also identified On Location as the official partner for priority passes and selected premium hospitality experiences connected with events. A Saturday Night’s Main Event Priority Pass is therefore an attendance-related possibility rather than a streaming requirement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Saturday Night’s Main Event still on NBC?
Not in the United States under the current arrangement. The series was previously broadcast on NBC and simulcast on Peacock, but Peacock became its exclusive U.S. live-streaming home beginning with the December 13, 2025 special.
Does Peacock carry all WWE Premium Live Events?
No. Saturday Night’s Main Event is separate from WWE’s Premium Live Event package. WWE announced ESPN platforms as the exclusive U.S. home of Premium Live Events beginning in 2026, while Saturday Night’s Main Event remained on Peacock.
Can I watch Saturday Night’s Main Event on Netflix?
Some international event listings identify Netflix as the destination, including WWE’s listing for the July 18, 2026 event. Netflix is not the universal destination for every country; international viewers should check their local WWE event listing.

No. The 2009 three-disc DVD is an archival collection from the show’s earlier historical run. It does not contain the current 2025–2026 Peacock-exclusive specials.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: In the United States, Saturday Night’s Main Event moved from an NBC/Peacock simulcast to a Peacock-exclusive live stream, beginning December 13, 2025. The change is separate from WWE’s larger Premium Live Event move to ESPN platforms. International viewers should check local rights, and collectors should treat the 2009 DVD as a history-focused companion—not a substitute for the current specials.
