What WWE Network subscribers received
In December 2024, affected subscribers in the U.K. and Ireland were notified that their WWE Network subscriptions would be canceled. Instead of losing access immediately, they were allowed to continue watching without the usual charge through the end of the month.
The notice effectively provided a free final month for existing customers. It did not describe an open promotion in which new customers anywhere could sign up for a free WWE Network trial. The complimentary access ended on December 31, 2024; January 1, 2025 was the point at which viewers were directed toward Netflix for future WWE viewing in those markets. Why Netflix was involved
WWE and Netflix announced a long-term partnership on January 23, 2024. Under that agreement, Netflix would become the new home of Raw in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Latin America and additional territories beginning in 2025. Outside the United States, Netflix also described plans to carry WWE shows, specials and Premium Live Events where regional rights permitted.
Netflix became the exclusive home of Raw in the U.K. and several other markets on January 6, 2025, rather than necessarily on January 1. The dates are therefore best understood as a transition period: WWE Network access was extended through the end of December, while Netflix’s specific WWE programming arrangements began according to the applicable market schedule. It was not a global WWE Network shutdown on the same day
The phrase “select countries” matters. The directly documented complimentary-final-month offer concerned subscribers in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It should not be expanded into a claim that every international WWE Network customer received the same deal.

WWE’s distribution agreements were shaped by local television, streaming and Premium Live Event rights. Some markets moved to Netflix, while others retained different arrangements or transitioned on different schedules. WWE’s current official viewing guide lists Netflix for most international regions but identifies separate arrangements for Germany and Austria, Japan, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

What moved to Netflix—and what did not
Netflix should not be described as a completely identical replacement for the old WWE Network archive in every country. Netflix’s own WWE guidance refers to selected historical and recent programming, and its available catalog varies by region.
Depending on the market, Netflix may offer Raw, SmackDown, NXT, Premium Live Events and selected archive material. Those categories are not a guarantee that every episode, pay-per-view, documentary or historical WWE Network program is available in a particular country. Local rights and catalog decisions determine what a subscriber can actually watch.

Viewers should check both Netflix’s country-specific WWE information and WWE’s official “How to Watch” guide before subscribing or assuming that a particular show or event is included.

The important distinction: transition access versus a free trial
“The final month is free” is a convenient shorthand, but it can be misleading without context. WWE did not announce a general free month for anyone interested in the service. The documented arrangement was a retention and transition measure for subscribers whose accounts were being canceled in two specified markets.
