Games said Monolith’s Wonder Woman game “will not move forward,” but that announcement concerns the game project—not Warner Bros.’ separate Nemesis-related patent record. The record lists Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. as assignee and displays an adjusted expiration date of August 11, 2036; its legal-status field is explicitly an assumption, not a legal conclusion.
What Warner Bros. announced about Wonder Woman
On February 25, 2025, Warner Bros. Games said: “The development of Monolith’s Wonder Woman video game will not move forward.” Gematsu reproduced the company’s statement, which also announced Monolith Productions’ closure. The statement establishes that the specific game project was canceled; it does not announce a change to the Nemesis patent.
What the patent record says

Google Patents cautions that its legal-status field is an assumption, not a legal conclusion. The displayed date should not be read as a determination that the patent is enforceable through that date. This record alone does not settle enforceability, the scope of the claims, maintenance-fee status, or the outcome of a potential challenge.

How the patent relates to the released games
The Nemesis System is associated with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, released September 30, 2014 and October 9, 2017, respectively, according to GameSpot. Reporting describes the system at a high level as enemies remembering player encounters and evolving, including changes in level, strengths, and weaknesses. That gameplay description is not a complete account of the patent’s claims.
The canceled Wonder Woman game has no released implementation to compare with those titles. Its cancellation does not establish whether a Nemesis-style system had been completed or what it might have contained.
