1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYes—functionally, but with an important qualification. Wiziwig.tv was widely understood as the successor to MyP2P.eu in online sports-streaming discovery. It organized event listings and links to live broadcasts rather than operating as a conventional licensed broadcaster with one unified portfolio of rights. Wiziwig closed at the end of 2014, anticipating changes to Spain’s intellectual-property rules that took effect on January 1, 2015.
That history is more nuanced than either “Wiziwig was definitely legal” or “Wiziwig was simply a broadcaster.” It occupied the legally contested space between discovering, linking to, and facilitating access to sports streams.
Wiziwig.tv in one sentence
Wiziwig.tv was a free online sports-streaming directory and link aggregator. It organized event listings and directed visitors toward live broadcasts; it was not, on the available evidence, a conventional licensed broadcaster with one unified portfolio of sports rights.
That distinction explains both its popularity and its legal exposure. A site does not have to transmit every video itself to become part of the pathway to an unauthorized broadcast. Its links, listings, advertising, traffic, and supporting infrastructure can still attract complaints, legal action, or regulatory pressure.

Was Wiziwig really the new MyP2P.eu?
Functionally and historically, yes—but the wording needs care. MyP2P.eu was an earlier, well-known destination for finding links to live sports. Historical accounts place legal trouble affecting MyP2P.eu around 2011, followed by a move toward the Wiziwig.eu domain and the Wiziwig brand.
For users, Wiziwig continued the same basic model: find an event, browse available links, and try to locate a live broadcast. That makes it reasonable to describe Wiziwig as a successor to MyP2P.eu or as the continuation of the MyP2P-style discovery service.
It is less safe to claim that every Wiziwig-branded domain was controlled by exactly the same legal entity. The available historical evidence supports a close lineage and continuity of audience function, not a complete corporate history for every later domain.
What Wiziwig did—and what it did not necessarily do
Wiziwig presented itself as a way for people to find live and free sports online, regardless of where they lived. Its name was styled as a variation on WYSIWYG, or “What You See Is What You Get.” The service brought together sports events and links in one searchable or browsable destination.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The practical appeal was convenience. Instead of searching the open web for an individual match or race, a visitor could look for an event in a sports category and see a selection of links. That made Wiziwig a discovery layer between the audience and the broadcasts.
Calling it a discovery layer does not automatically make the activity lawful. Some linked broadcasts may have been authorized, while others may not have been. The important point is that Wiziwig should not be described as though it owned the rights to every event or operated every stream itself.
| Question | Most accurate answer |
|---|---|
| What was Wiziwig? | A sports-streaming link directory and event aggregator. |
| Was it a normal broadcaster? | Not on the available evidence; it did not have one clearly documented, unified rights portfolio. |
| How was it related to MyP2P.eu? | It was widely treated as MyP2P.eu’s successor or continuation in audience function and operating model. |
| Did it host every stream? | Not necessarily. The service primarily organized or linked users to broadcasts. |
| Does a similarly named site today prove continuity? | No. A later domain using the Wiziwig name is not automatically the original service. |
Why did Wiziwig close?
Wiziwig announced that it would stop operating before the end of 2014. Its closure statement pointed to changes in Spain’s intellectual-property rules and the risks those changes created for a linking-based sports-streaming service.
The concern was broader than the possibility of a video being removed. The statement referred to potential exposure involving domains, hosting, advertising, banking, and substantial financial penalties. In other words, the operating model could become too risky even if the site characterized itself as a directory rather than the broadcaster of each individual stream.

Contemporaneous Spanish reporting connected the closure with the new intellectual-property law coming into force on January 1, 2015. The most defensible timeline is therefore that Wiziwig closed at the end of 2014 in anticipation of a changing Spanish legal regime. It is too strong to say, without a specific primary court order, that one judgment directly shut the site down.
Wiziwig closure timeline
- 2011: Historical accounts place MyP2P.eu’s legal problems and the transition toward the Wiziwig brand around this period.
- Late 2014: Wiziwig announced that it would cease operating before the new year, citing the risks associated with Spain’s incoming intellectual-property rules.
- January 1, 2015: The new Spanish legal framework took effect, and contemporaneous reports described the closure as connected to that change.
Was linking to sports streams illegal?
There is no reliable one-word answer that covers every link, website, country, and set of facts. Wiziwig’s history sits in the legally contested space between finding content, linking to content, hosting content, and transmitting content.
Materials from the World Intellectual Property Organization discussing the MyP2P.eu litigation describe a result in which direct infringement was not found on the particular facts under consideration. That case-specific outcome should not be turned into a universal rule that all links to all streams are lawful. Courts and lawmakers can distinguish between different kinds of links, levels of knowledge, commercial conduct, technical involvement, and effects on rights holders.
There was also a separate legislative layer. Spain’s changing rules increased the operational risk for sites that linked users to protected sports broadcasts, regardless of how the site described its own role. A business can face domain, hosting, advertising, or payment pressure before a broad judicial principle settles every possible form of linking.
Finally, enforcement against unauthorized live sports distribution has continued in other jurisdictions and under different laws. The United States Department of Justice, for example, has pursued domain seizures involving alleged illegal live-streaming of World Cup content. Those actions do not prove the legal details of the Wiziwig case, which involved a different time and jurisdiction, but they show that unauthorized live sports remains an enforcement target.
The careful conclusion is this: Wiziwig’s shutdown reflected operational risk under a changing Spanish regime, not a universal judicial declaration that every link to every stream was unlawful. Readers should not treat the history as legal advice or as permission to use current unverified streaming sites.
Is Wiziwig.tv still operating in 2026?
There is no authoritative evidence that the original Wiziwig.tv service remains an official, continuously operating destination in 2026. Historical pages, references, copycats, and successor-style domains may still appear in search results, but a familiar name alone does not authenticate a site.
This matters because unofficial streaming brands often reappear under new domains. A new site may have no connection to the original operators, may provide different material, or may exist mainly to collect advertising revenue, push browser notifications, redirect visitors, or promote questionable downloads.

For that reason, this article does not list mirror domains or replacement URLs. A reader looking for a current site using the Wiziwig name should treat it as unverified unless its ownership, purpose, and legal status can be independently established. The original service should be understood as a historical part of the MyP2P/Wiziwig streaming-link ecosystem, not as a dependable current provider.
What replaced the need Wiziwig served?
The underlying need—finding where to watch a particular live sporting event—did not disappear. What changed was the distribution model. Official rights are now divided among leagues, broadcasters, event platforms, regional services, subscription tiers, and sometimes pay-TV authentication.
For a lawful replacement, begin with official sports streaming services and the event’s own viewing information rather than with a general-purpose mirror site. ESPN’s current official pages illustrate the fragmented arrangement: depending on the sport and location, live content may involve ESPN networks, ESPN+, ESPN Unlimited, MLB.TV, or another provider. Blackouts and regional availability can also apply.
ESPN is only an example, not a universal Wiziwig substitute. No single subscription should be assumed to carry every sport, league, country, or fixture. Rights and packages change, so verify the current information for the specific event before paying.

A practical way to find a game legally
- Start with the source closest to the event. Check the league, tournament, team, venue, or official event website for a “Where to watch” or broadcast listing.
- Confirm your country. Rights can differ by territory, and a service advertised in one country may not be available in another.
- Identify the exact access requirement. The event may require a pay-TV login, a standalone streaming subscription, an add-on, or a free account.
- Check the difference between live and on-demand rights. A platform may offer highlights or replays without carrying the live event.
- Look for blackouts and local restrictions. Regional rules can prevent a service from showing a game even when the sport appears in its general catalog.
- Use the provider’s own app or website. Download it through the platform’s official app store, and avoid pages that instruct you to disable security features or install an unfamiliar player.
If you want to watch official apps on a television rather than a computer, a streaming media player for official sports apps can provide a more convenient interface. Amazon Fire TV is one example of this device category, but the hardware does not provide sports rights, bypass blackouts, or turn an unauthorized stream into a licensed one.
What should you do after visiting an unfamiliar streaming page?
The dossier does not establish that Wiziwig itself infected visitors’ devices, and there is no basis for making that claim. The practical concern applies to unofficial streaming pages generally: aggressive redirects, deceptive download buttons, browser-notification requests, tracking, and potentially unwanted applications can appear around such sites.
If you visited an unfamiliar page, do not install a player or browser extension merely because a pop-up says it is required. Close the tab, cancel unexpected downloads, and inspect the browser and system afterward.
Quick browser and Windows checks
- Remove unwanted notifications. In Chrome, review Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Notifications. In Edge, review Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Notifications. Firefox users can check Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions > Notifications. Remove permissions for sites you do not recognize.
- Review extensions. Open the browser’s extensions or add-ons page and remove anything you did not intentionally install. Restart the browser afterward.
- Check installed applications. In Windows, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps, sort by installation date if available, and investigate unfamiliar software installed around the time of the visit.
- Run normal security tools. Use current Windows security and reputable antivirus tools. Keep them enabled; do not substitute a cleanup utility for antivirus protection.
- Change passwords only when warranted. If you entered credentials on a suspicious page or downloaded and ran an unknown program, change affected passwords from a clean device and enable multifactor authentication where available.
For additional Windows maintenance, Outbyte PC Repair documents functions related to redirects, tracking-cookie cleanup, potentially dangerous websites, vulnerabilities, and potentially unwanted applications. It can be considered if you need to check your Windows PC for unwanted apps, but it should be treated as a cleanup and maintenance option—not as proof that a site is safe, a substitute for antivirus, or a method for making unauthorized streaming lawful. Outbyte’s own documentation says it complements rather than replaces antivirus software.
A VPN, streaming device, or cleanup utility does not grant permission to watch an unauthorized broadcast. These tools address connectivity, convenience, or device maintenance; they do not change copyright or sports-rights rules.

Wiziwig mattered because it solved a genuine discovery problem. Live sports rights were—and remain—scattered across many services, while viewers often want one simple answer to the question, “Where can I watch this event?” MyP2P.eu and Wiziwig assembled that information in a way that was easy for audiences to use.

But the convenience of aggregation did not eliminate the rights issue. A directory can occupy a different technical role from a broadcaster and still facilitate access to protected content. That distinction produced the legal uncertainty around MyP2P.eu and Wiziwig, while the changing Spanish rules made the wider business model increasingly difficult to operate.
Today, the safer and more durable solution is not a new domain using an old name. It is a combination of official league listings, broadcaster apps, event-specific “where to watch” pages, and careful checking of territory, authentication, subscription, and blackout conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Was Wiziwig the same company as MyP2P.eu?
Wiziwig.tv was widely treated as MyP2P.eu’s successor in audience function and operating model. Historical accounts place MyP2P.eu’s legal trouble around 2011 and connect the later Wiziwig.eu brand with that lineage. However, the available evidence does not establish that every later Wiziwig-branded domain was controlled by exactly the same legal entity.
Did Wiziwig host the sports streams itself?
Wiziwig was primarily a link directory and event aggregator. It organized listings and directed users toward broadcasts, so it should not automatically be described as the broadcaster or rights holder for every stream it listed.
What caused Wiziwig to close?
The strongest evidence indicates that Wiziwig announced its closure at the end of 2014 because of the risks associated with Spain’s changing intellectual-property rules, which took effect on January 1, 2015. That is different from claiming that one specific court order directly shut down the site.
Is Wiziwig still operating in 2026?
There is no authoritative evidence that the original Wiziwig.tv service remains an official, continuously operating destination in 2026. A site using the Wiziwig name may be a copycat, successor, or unrelated operation, so the name alone should not be treated as proof of authenticity.

Start with the league, team, tournament, or event’s official viewing page, then confirm your country, provider, subscription requirement, live-versus-replay rights, and blackout rules. Services such as ESPN and ESPN+ illustrate the current fragmented model, but no single service carries every sport or event worldwide.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Wiziwig.tv was widely treated as the MyP2P.eu successor in sports-streaming discovery, not as a conventional licensed broadcaster. It closed at the end of 2014 as Spain’s intellectual-property rules were changing ahead of January 1, 2015. In 2026, similarly named domains should not be assumed authentic; use official rights-holder and broadcaster listings instead, and treat any device cleanup as a safety measure—not a way to legalize unauthorized streaming.
