Truth:Beauty is reported to be a feature documentary about photographer Peter Lindbergh, with Wim Wenders serving as executive producer and Alexandra Matine writing and directing. What is Wim Wenders’ Peter Lindbergh documentary?
Truth:Beauty is reported as a feature documentary about German fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh. An October 8, 2026 report says the project is being developed in partnership with the Peter Lindbergh Foundation, which is providing the filmmakers access to Lindbergh’s archives. The report describes Lindbergh’s black-and-white portraits as helping usher in the supermodel era and characterizes his approach to fashion photography as more natural and realistic than heavily stylized images.
Who is directing Truth:Beauty?
According to the October 8 report, French novelist Alexandra Matine is writing and directing the film, marking her feature directorial debut. Maja Hoffmann and Human Humans are named as producers, while Wenders has joined as executive producer. These details come from reporting; no official project or Foundation announcement was identified.
Why are Wenders and Lindbergh connected?
A second report published the same day describes a friendship between Wenders and Lindbergh spanning decades. It also says Lindbergh’s 1993 Harper’s Bazaar editorial “City of Angels” was directly inspired by Wenders’ film Wings of Desire. Those are the report’s characterizations of their personal and artistic connection, rather than findings independently confirmed by a primary project source. Read the same-day report.

When will Truth:Beauty be released, and has filming started?
The October 8, 2026 report said principal photography was expected to begin before the end of that year. That is an expected start, not confirmation that filming has begun.
