The image shows Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Ariana Grande’s Glinda in distinct new looks, with Elphaba holding a broom beneath the tagline “You will be changed.” The report describing the sighting was published March 29, 2025; that date is not confirmed as the poster’s official publication date.
What does the first Wicked: For Good poster look like?
According to the March 29, 2025 report, the poster features Erivo as Elphaba and Grande as Glinda, dressed in different costumes that reflect their diverging paths. Elphaba holds a broom, and the tagline reads “You will be changed.” The report says the poster was seen on an elevator in Las Vegas before CinemaCon; it does not establish when Universal officially released the image.
What is the sequel about?
Wicked: For Good continues the story after Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship fractures. NBCUniversal describes Elphaba as fighting to expose the Wizard while Glinda becomes a public symbol of hope. Universal’s home-entertainment synopsis says the arrival of a girl from Kansas forces the two women to reunite. These official descriptions point to a sequel centered on the consequences of their choices and the difficult return to one another.
Director Jon M. Chu said, “It was clear when we separated the two movies that Wicked: For Good needed some additional elements to fully tell the story of these two women and their struggle to come back together.” Producer Marc Platt described the two-part arc this way: “The first tells how Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and the second tells how her best friend, Glinda, becomes authentically good.”

Who made the film, and when did it come out?
Jon M. Chu directed the sequel, with Erivo and Grande returning as Elphaba and Glinda. Universal scheduled its US theatrical release for November 21, 2025. That release date is now historical: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment later announced digital availability beginning December 30, 2025, followed by 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD availability beginning January 20, 2026. Digital and retail availability can vary by country and service, so check local listings for current options.
The January 2026 home release covers the film itself, not a reproduction of the poster. Universal also notes that some bonus features depend on participating retailers and that one featurette is digital-only; check the specific retailer’s listing before choosing a format.
