She also said, “Reagan and Brett deserved to get their ending and finally find happiness,” and expressed that she would have liked to share what had been planned. Her statement conveys disappointment at losing the continuation; it does not give Netflix’s reason for cancelling it. Did the show’s Top 10 appearances prove it was successful?
Not conclusively. TheWrap reported fan posts claiming that Inside Job had appeared in Netflix’s Top 10 when new episodes arrived. Was the story finished?
No. The cancellation ended the planned continuation, leaving the story’s larger arc unresolved. The Independent described the ending as a cliffhanger; Takeuchi’s comments about Reagan and Brett getting their ending underscore that the characters’ story was not brought to the conclusion she had hoped to share.
