The band later announced 2026 tour dates, so that cancellation is not its current tour status.
Why did the Stray Cats cancel the fall 2025 tour?
On October 28, 2025, the Stray Cats announced that they were canceling their fall U.S. tour because Setzer was unable to perform due to a serious illness. The announcement did not identify a diagnosis. SRO PR’s announcement archive records the cancellation, and contemporaneous coverage reported the stated reason.
No replacement dates for the canceled 2025 shows were announced at the time. The cancellation was a health-related disruption to that particular tour, not an announcement that the band had ended.
What illness does Brian Setzer have?
The band’s October 2025 cancellation announcement said “serious illness” but did not name a condition. The Los Angeles Times’ October 28, 2025 coverage described an autoimmune disorder. In an August 2026 interview with Guitar World, Setzer discussed an autoimmune condition that had affected his hands and his recovery. He said it had gone into remission and described himself as “98 percent.” That percentage is his own account, not an independently measured medical statistic.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Setzer’s later comments add context to the earlier cancellation, but they should not be mistaken for a diagnosis named in the October 2025 announcement.
Are the Stray Cats touring in 2026?
Yes. The band announced a 2026 summer tour on March 9, followed by fall dates scheduled to run from November 9 through December 6. The announcements describe a return to touring; dates are subject to change. Check the official summer tour announcement and official fall tour announcement for the band’s announced listings and updates.
