Southern said it began on stage and continued as the brothers performed together. The directors also kept their crew out of the rehearsal room so the cameras would not make a sensitive reunion feel staged or mediated.
Was there a reconciliation conversation on camera?
Not a formal sit-down conversation about the feud, the filmmakers say. At a London preview on October 5, 2026, writer Steven Knight and co-directors Southern and Will Lovelace discussed why the film does not show the brothers explicitly revisiting their grievances. NME reported that there was no heart-to-heart of the kind viewers might expect; that account is limited to the report’s summary. NME’s report

That does not mean the documentary presents a private decision by Noel and Liam to reconcile. The directors’ explanation is that the rapprochement took shape gradually through playing together, rather than in a single filmed conversation.
How do the directors describe the brothers’ reconciliation?
“The reconciliation didn’t happen in rehearsals,” Southern told The Guardian. He said it started happening on stage and continued there. Lovelace characterized the change as the brothers healing the divide publicly and forgiving without saying a word. That is the filmmakers’ interpretation of what the performances showed, not an independently confirmed account of the brothers’ private feelings.

The distinction matters: the film’s story of reconnection is expressed through the tour, not through a recorded reconciliation meeting. The Guardian reported that the directors watched the brothers grow closer over the course of the tour.
Why did the crew stay out of rehearsals?
Southern said the directors did not want their presence to make the reunion feel “mediated.” In an interview with Variety, he described the first prolonged time the brothers had spent in a room together in 15 years as sensitive, and said the crew did not want to intrude.

The production used concealed cameras and remote observation instead. The Guardian reported that cameras were hidden in sound equipment and the directors monitored rehearsals from outside; the crew filmed rehearsals without being seen for six weeks. Variety said the directors set up rigs and watched from a nearby cabin. Those choices gave the filmmakers footage of the band working together while reducing the sense of an audience in the room.
What kind of documentary is it?
The Associated Press describes the film as both a concert documentary and an exploration of the brothers’ contentious relationship. It includes unseen rehearsal material and interviews: the directors spoke with Noel and Liam separately before rehearsals, then together once the tour was underway. The shift in those interviews reflects the relationship’s progression without supplying the private reconciliation scene the film does not have.

- OASIS LORD DON T SLOW ME DOWN (2 DVD)
Oasis reunited for the 2025 tour after a 16-year hiatus, opening in Cardiff. The Guardian reported that Oasis Live 25 comprised 41 concerts in 14 countries across five continents and played to more than two million people. The scale of the tour gives context to the film’s public setting for the brothers’ reconnection; it does not establish what either brother privately felt or said.
