Tanner Frick left The Voice after rehearsals and before performing in the Season 26 Knockouts. When host Carson Daly announced his departure on the November 11, 2024 episode, neither the broadcast statement nor contemporaneous reports gave a specific reason. The public explanation remains limited to when he left—not why.
What happened to Tanner Frick on The Voice?
Frick, a country singer from Brandon, Mississippi, first impressed the coaches with a four-chair turn for his Blind Audition performance of Morgan Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know.” He chose Reba McEntire’s team. In the Battles, he performed Jelly Roll’s “Need a Favor” with Tate Renner. McEntire chose Renner, but Michael Bublé used a steal to bring Frick onto Team Bublé.

Bublé called Frick a “huge win” and said he needed a country singer on his team. Frick left after rehearsals, before he could compete in the Knockouts. As that round began, Daly told Bublé: “Michael, Tanner [Frick] left the competition after rehearsals. You still have Cameron [Wright] and Sloane [Simon].” Parade reported the announcement on November 11, 2024, as did TV Insider.
Did The Voice explain why he left?
No specific reason was established in the November 2024 coverage. Parade reported that NBC provided no additional information and that Frick had not posted the exact reason. TV Insider likewise said NBC had not commented and Frick had not directly addressed the departure. Those reports document the absence of a public explanation at the time; they do not establish what prompted his decision.

Was Frick’s social media post an explanation?
Shortly before the episode aired, Frick posted “Ain’t nobody want me anyway” alongside a snippet of a new song. The contemporary reports said the post’s connection to the show was unclear. The caption may sound like a comment on his experience, but it does not confirm why he left. TV Insider and Parade both treated its meaning as uncertain.
