Tanaav season 2 is a 12-episode action thriller released in two six-episode volumes. The September 2024 first-volume review called the split frustrating because those episodes stopped at a charged point in the story. Deepa Gahlot’s December review covers the remaining six, so “truncated” describes the September viewing experience—not an unfinished season today.
How many episodes are in Tanaav season 2?
Season 2 comprises two volumes of six episodes each, according to Deepa Gahlot’s September and December 2024 reviews. The first volume arrived in September; her December review covers the remaining episodes. The release split is central to the complaint: the first batch stopped just as the plot reached an exciting point, leaving viewers to wait for the rest.

What is Tanaav season 2 about?
SonyLIV’s catalog describes Kabir rejoining the STG after an attack on his father, as a new enemy threatens to spread ISIS influence in Kashmir. The platform classifies the series as an action thriller and lists a cast including Manav Vij, Rajat Kapoor, Gaurav Arora, Shashank Arora and Ekta Kaul. That is the service’s synopsis, rather than an independent assessment of the story. SonyLIV’s Tanaav listing
In her September review, Gahlot says the season takes up a plot from Fauda 2. She describes Fareed, also known as Al Damishk, as the son of a character killed in the earlier season, trained by ISIS in Syria and driven by revenge. The season’s central pursuit pits Fareed, played by Gaurav Arora, against Kabir Farooqui, played by Manav Vij. Gahlot’s September review at Scroll.in

Is Tanaav 2 worth watching?
Gahlot’s assessment is strongest on momentum and performance, more reserved on depth. She praises the action sequences and says the pace seldom lags; she also singles out Manav Vij, Rajat Kapoor and Ekta Kaul. But compared with the first season, she finds this one lighter on detail and political undercurrents, with the drama narrowing toward a pursuit to catch a terrorist.
Her December review of the second volume describes a fast-moving run of shootouts and emotional stakes. It also considers the effects of violence on people beyond the two principal adversaries. Gahlot praises Manav Vij, Rajat Kapoor, Danish Husain and Soni Razdan, while arguing that dividing the season into two parts did not make sense. Gahlot’s December review at Scroll.in
Rank #2
That makes the season a more straightforward recommendation for viewers seeking an action-led thriller and strong performances than for those expecting the first season’s level of political and social detail. This is a judgment based on Gahlot’s reviews, not a claim that all viewers will respond the same way.
Does Tanaav season 2 have a proper ending?
The December review covers the six episodes missing from the September batch and says the second volume closes with an announcement about the next season. The season therefore continued beyond the first volume’s cliff-edge pause, but the ending also points toward a further season rather than presenting itself as the end of the series. Gahlot’s December review calls the volume’s close satisfying while still objecting to the two-part release structure.
