The band performed The Black Parade in full at each show, with a different opening act on the bill. Its timing followed the group’s long, interrupted return and a full-album performance at the 2024 When We Were Young Festival—making the tour feel like a considered return to a defining work, rather than simply another set of reunion dates.
When was My Chemical Romance’s 2025 tour?
The tour was announced on November 12, 2024, and the announced dates ran from July 11 through September 13, 2025. It is a completed event, not an upcoming tour. The announcement described a 10-city North American stadium run celebrating The Black Parade, with the album planned in full at every date. Official tour announcement
Why did the timing feel significant?
The case for the tour arriving at a meaningful moment rests on a sequence of events, not on a claim that every fan experienced it the same way. The Black Parade was released in 2006. My Chemical Romance announced its breakup in 2013; the band announced its reunion in 2019, and members later disclosed they had privately reunited two years before that announcement. The reunion tour planned for 2020 was delayed during the pandemic until 2022. Associated Press
In 2022, the band released “The Foundations of Decay,” described by the Associated Press as its first new song since 2014. In October 2024, it performed The Black Parade in full at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas. The stadium-tour announcement followed the next month. That order gives the 2025 run a clear narrative: a band returning to touring after a disrupted reunion, revisiting an album with an established place in its history, and then making that album the center of a dedicated tour.

That is an interpretation of the chronology, not proof of a universal cultural moment or shared audience reaction. What the documented sequence does establish is that the festival performance preceded the announcement, and that the tour expanded the full-album concept across 10 stadium dates.
Did My Chemical Romance play The Black Parade in full?
Yes. The tour announcement said the band would perform the complete album at each of the 10 dates. This made the record’s sequence—not a conventional mixed-catalog set—the tour’s defining format. The announcement established the full-album plan; it does not, by itself, establish details such as set length or production design. Official tour announcement
