Kelly Ripa says she is now grateful for a topless photograph her husband, Mark Consuelos, took during their honeymoon. At the time, she worried that the person developing the film might see her naked; years later, she found the picture in an old shoebox and came to value it as a funny reminder of her younger self.
Who took Kelly Ripa’s honeymoon photo?
Ripa said Consuelos took the photograph while she was napping without a bikini top on their honeymoon. Fox News reported the anecdote in a July 8, 2022 story about the couple, who married in 1996. Fox News’ report reproduces Ripa’s remarks from television; it is not a transcript checked against the full broadcast.
Why did Ripa say she was grateful for it?
Her first response was embarrassment. As quoted by Fox News, she recalled saying, “How could you take that photo of me? The man at the Fotomat saw me naked!” Her concern was that someone processing the film might see the image.
Later, while looking through an old shoebox of photographs, she came across it again. She described the picture as a humorous keepsake and a reminder of how she looked when she was younger. Her gratitude was about having that personal record—not about sharing the image publicly.

When did she tell the story?
Ripa discussed the photograph on Live with Kelly and Ryan in July 2022, during a conversation about whether she would visit a nude beach. PEOPLE’s video description, dated July 8, says the story followed a question from Ryan Seacrest. In Fox News’ account, Ripa said, “I did go topless on my honeymoon, and I’m so grateful – I’m so, so grateful.” PEOPLE’s July 8, 2022 video describes the conversation, while the quoted wording above is reproduced by Fox News.
Was the story discussed again?
Yes. An OK! Magazine report dated September 18, 2026 says Ripa and Consuelos revisited the photograph on Live with Kelly and Mark while discussing a travel trend. That report describes a later retelling, not the original July 2022 conversation. OK! Magazine’s report is secondary coverage of that later segment.
