No—but it may be the most awkward major anime franchise to stream in order in the U.S. in 2026. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is not missing from American streaming. The problem is that its story is divided into generational parts, those parts are distributed unevenly across Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Hulu, and the newest adaptation, Steel Ball Run, is arriving through an unusual staged Netflix release.
As of the August 12, 2026 availability snapshot, Netflix is the closest thing to a one-stop option. It is also the only listed U.S. home for Stone Ocean and Steel Ball Run. But the first Steel Ball Run stage is the only portion confirmed as available so far, so even a Netflix subscription does not mean the entire animated story is already complete.
Availability snapshot: August 12, 2026, United States. Streaming rights can change by country, account, and date, so use the official JoJo platform listing and then confirm the title inside the service before subscribing.
The current U.S. streaming map
The official JoJo portal currently lists the first five animated parts on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. Stone Ocean, the adaptation of Part 6, is listed on Netflix, while Steel Ball Run, the Part 7 adaptation, is also listed on Netflix.

Crunchyroll’s official series and help-catalog pages support the service’s JoJo offering, but the official JoJo portal is the better place to check the part-by-part distribution. Hulu is also listed for Parts 1–5, although its catalog should be checked at the time you plan to watch.
Why JoJo feels harder to stream than a normal missing-season problem
1. The story is divided into parts, while apps organize it as seasons
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is one connected saga told across different generations of the Joestar family. Each part introduces a new protagonist, location, supporting cast, and central conflict, but recurring history and mythology connect the installments.
That makes platform fragmentation unusually confusing. A viewer searching for the next season may see a different protagonist and assume the app has recommended an unrelated series. Conversely, someone following an app’s recommendation rail can begin with a later part without realizing that earlier events establish important family history and powers.
The numbering does not help. The first anime season adapts both Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. Later anime seasons generally correspond to one manga part each. The official portal presents Steel Ball Run as the sixth anime season, even though it adapts Part 7 of the manga. Netflix’s page, meanwhile, displays five named seasons and carries Steel Ball Run separately. Those labels describe packaging, not a missing JoJo part.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2. The services split the later story from the earlier story
Parts 1–5 are broadly distributed across the three services listed above. Parts 6 and 7 are the reason Netflix becomes central: the official U.S. matrix lists Stone Ocean and Steel Ball Run there, rather than presenting the entire animated saga equally across Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Hulu.
That means a viewer can make substantial progress on one service and still need to change services for the continuation. It is not the same as discovering that one episode is missing from an otherwise complete season. The catalog is divided along the story’s own generational boundaries.
3. Netflix has used an unconventional release cadence
Stone Ocean was released in batches instead of following the weekly anime schedule many viewers expect. Steel Ball Run continues the unusual approach, but with a different announced structure.
Netflix and the official JoJo site describe the first stage as a single 47-minute episode. The second and third stages comprise 11 episodes released weekly on Fridays beginning September 25, 2026. Netflix describes this as a split-cour release across the full run.

The first 47-minute Steel Ball Run stage is confirmed as available on Netflix on August 12, 2026. The later 11 episodes are announced for the September 25 start date, but that date is still in the future at the time of this availability check. Do not describe the entire adaptation as already streamable on August 12.
This is why a search result or a Netflix page can produce a particularly frustrating experience. The title may be present, but the complete run is not necessarily available yet. A missing episode may be a release-schedule issue, not a subscription, device, or account problem.

What is Steel Ball Run about?
Part 7 is not simply another season with the same formula. Netflix describes it as a cross-continental horseback race through 1890s North America involving Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli. The official JoJo portal describes a race of approximately 4,000 miles with a $50 million prize.
That premise can surprise viewers who have only watched the first five animated parts. It is still JoJo, but it has a sharply different historical setting and a new narrative framework. The part’s position in the franchise also explains another common search error: a reader may think the anime has skipped from Part 6 to Part 7 because Netflix and the official portal label the adaptation by season differently. It has not skipped a manga part; the current anime season is adapting Part 7.

The correct first-time watch order
For a first viewing, follow the animated story order rather than the order in which services display thumbnails:
- Phantom Blood — Part 1
- Battle Tendency — Part 2
- Stardust Crusaders — Part 3
- Diamond Is Unbreakable — Part 4
- Golden Wind — Part 5
- Stone Ocean — Part 6
- Steel Ball Run — Part 7
The first two entries are both contained in the first anime season. After that, the season-to-part relationship is more straightforward, but the labels still differ between the manga, the official portal, and individual streaming interfaces.
For newcomers, this order preserves the Joestar-family history and the development of the series’ mythology. Steel Ball Run has its own setting and cast, but it is still better understood as the next numbered part of the larger JoJo project than as a random spinoff.

Is Netflix the best single-service solution?
As of August 12, 2026, Netflix is the closest thing to a one-stop U.S. option for the animated JoJo catalog. It lists the five earlier anime seasons, carries Stone Ocean, and is the home of the announced Steel Ball Run adaptation. But that answer needs three qualifications:
Recommended Free Tools
- The catalog is not permanent. Streaming licenses are territory- and time-sensitive. A current listing is not a guarantee that the same part will remain available indefinitely.
- Steel Ball Run is staged. On the snapshot date, only the first 47-minute stage is confirmed as available. The remaining episodes have an announced future schedule.
- Netflix’s season labels can mislead. Its five-season display should not be read as five manga parts. The first anime season contains Parts 1 and 2, and Steel Ball Run is presented separately.
Crunchyroll or Hulu may be sufficient if you only need Parts 1–5 and your account shows them. If you want to move through the listed animated story without changing services, Netflix is currently the more convenient choice. Check the actual episode list before paying for a subscription, especially if your goal is a specific part.
A practical way to check before subscribing
- Start with the official JoJo platform matrix. Use it to identify the services listed for your country. This article’s table is specifically for the United States.
- Search for the exact part inside the app. Look for Stone Ocean or Steel Ball Run, not only the broad franchise title. Apps may group or separate seasons differently.
- Open the episode list. Confirm that the part, subtitles or dub you need, and the expected number of episodes are actually available to your account.
- Distinguish a catalog problem from a playback problem. If the title or later episodes are absent, changing browsers or restarting a router will not create a licensed release. If the title is present but the video buffers or stutters, then troubleshoot the app, connection, and device.
- For Windows playback trouble, check the local machine first. Open Task Manager with
Ctrl+Shift+Escand watch CPU, memory, GPU, and network activity while the video plays. Update the streaming app or browser, close unnecessary high-load programs, and test another supported browser or device. These steps can address local performance problems, but they cannot fix regional rights, service outages, or Netflix’s release schedule.
Quick diagnosis: If Netflix shows only the first Steel Ball Run stage on August 12, 2026, that is consistent with the announced rollout. If the stage is listed but playback is poor, investigate your device or connection. Those are two different problems with two different solutions.
Read the source manga while waiting
If the staged release is the part that is driving you crazy, the most relevant physical fallback is the English edition of Steel Ball Run Vol. 1 manga. VIZ lists JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 7—Steel Ball Run, Vol. 1 as a hardcover by Hirohiko Araki, with ISBN-13 978-1-9747-5254-6 and a May 27, 2025 release date. VIZ also displays Amazon among the purchase options.
This is not a requirement for watching the anime, and it does not replace checking Netflix for the adaptation. It is simply the most direct way to continue into the source material while the animated release proceeds on its announced schedule. Prices, stock, and retailer availability can change, so confirm those details before ordering.

VIZ also maintains English JoJo manga volumes from earlier parts for readers who want the complete story in print. Official anime home-video releases, including Stone Ocean volumes listed by VIZ, are another option for collectors or viewers who want a physical backup. Neither route is necessary if the relevant streaming service is available; they are alternatives to a changing digital catalog, not proof that streaming is impossible.
Why the claim needs careful wording
Calling JoJo the hardest anime to stream is an editorial judgment, not a measured industry ranking. There is no single benchmark proving that it is objectively more difficult to stream than every other anime franchise. The defensible point is narrower and more useful: in the U.S., JoJo is unusually awkward to watch from beginning to end because its parts are split across services and its newest adaptation is arriving in an unconventional staged release.
So the answer is not that JoJo has vanished from U.S. streaming. It is widely available, and Netflix is currently the nearest one-stop option. The frustration comes from having to understand the part-and-season numbering, verify which service carries the specific installment, and account for a release calendar that means the newest part is not complete on the snapshot date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure impossible to stream in the U.S.?
No. In the United States, the official JoJo platform listing currently shows Parts 1–5 on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Hulu, with Stone Ocean and Steel Ball Run on Netflix. It is difficult to watch in order, but it is not unavailable.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Netflix is currently the closest single-service option because it lists the five earlier anime seasons and also carries Stone Ocean and Steel Ball Run. However, catalogs change, and only Steel Ball Run’s first 47-minute stage is confirmed as available in the August 12, 2026 snapshot.
What is the correct JoJo watch order?
Watch Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable, Golden Wind, Stone Ocean, and then Steel Ball Run. The first anime season combines Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency, while Steel Ball Run is Part 7 of the manga but is labeled the sixth anime season on the official JoJo portal.
When will the rest of Steel Ball Run be released?
The announced schedule says that Steel Ball Run’s first stage is one 47-minute episode. Its second and third stages comprise 11 episodes released weekly on Fridays beginning September 25, 2026. As of August 12, that later schedule had not yet fully occurred.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is not impossible to stream in the United States in 2026, but it is unusually inconvenient to stream in order. Use Netflix for the broadest single-service coverage currently listed, use Crunchyroll or Hulu for Parts 1–5 where available, and verify the episode list before subscribing. As of August 12, only Steel Ball Run’s 47-minute first stage is confirmed as available; the remaining 11 episodes are scheduled to begin weekly on September 25, 2026.
