Naruto fans have a real reason to watch February 2027: a new large-scale live production, Ninja Show “NARUTO”, is scheduled to begin at Kyoto’s historic Minamiza Theatre and run through June. The confirmed news is a February 2027 performance window—not an exact February 1 premiere date.
Naruto fans have a real reason to watch February 2027: a new large-scale live production, Ninja Show “NARUTO” (忍劇「NARUTO-ナルト-」), is scheduled to begin at Kyoto’s historic Minamiza Theatre and run through June.
There is one important correction to the way this news is sometimes presented. The confirmed announcement says February 2027, not specifically February 1, 2027. Until the production publishes an exact performance calendar, February 1 should be treated as a possible headline hook—not a confirmed opening night.
What is officially announced for February 2027?
The Kyoto production is described as a non-verbal live show. Rather than relying primarily on spoken dialogue, it will use physical performance and visual spectacle to communicate Naruto’s world and its ninja techniques.

The announced production concept includes:
- Action choreography and movement
- Acrobatics and aerial techniques
- Projection mapping
- Illusion effects
- Other large-scale visual staging
- The stage machinery of Kyoto’s Minamiza Theatre
That combination makes this different from simply placing the anime on a theatre stage. The production is designed as an immersive ninja spectacle, using the venue’s mechanisms and visual technology to express abilities that would normally be animated.
The story focuses on Naruto’s childhood saga
The official project description says the show will portray Naruto’s childhood-era story, including his growth alongside comrades in the Hidden Leaf Village. That points audiences toward the early Konoha storyline and its best-known young characters, including Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Kakashi Hatake.
The announcement does not present the show as a sequel-only story or as a production centered exclusively on the later Boruto era. For fans who want to revisit the foundations of Naruto’s journey—the Academy, Team 7, rivalry, friendship, and Naruto’s struggle to earn recognition—the premise offers a familiar starting point.
Readers who want to revisit that material before the show can consider the Naruto manga box set. VIZ identifies Naruto Box Set 1 as containing all 27 volumes of the first Naruto story arc, making it a useful print companion to the childhood-era material. It is not announced show merchandise and does not include tickets; it is simply a way to read the original story behind the characters and setting.
Why Minamiza Theatre matters
Minamiza is one of Kyoto’s historic theatre venues and is closely associated with kabuki performance. Its traditional stage systems are therefore part of the appeal of this Naruto project, rather than merely a neutral location.
Putting a ninja action show in a venue known for theatrical stage mechanisms creates an unusual meeting point between a major anime franchise and Japanese live performance tradition. The production’s aerial work, illusions, projections, and movement can be staged with a sense of scale that would be difficult to reproduce in a conventional small theatre.

- 【Popular character design】The product is designed with the popular character Luffy from One Piece as the core, with exquisite workmanship and strong quality, suitable for fans to collect.
- [Soft Lighting Function] The light is soft and eye-friendly with moderate brightness. The product comes with decorative lighting (for the figurine/ornament), making it suitable for nighttime use—its light won’t glare or irritate the eyes.
- 【High quality material】Made of natural resin material, durable and exquisitely detailed, with clear character pattern printing.
- 【Multi purpose scenario】It can be used as a collectible around One Piece, as well as for bedroom, game room, and office decoration.
- 【Safety and Size】The product size (26.5*18*12) is suitable for desktop placement, with a low heat generation design, and can be used with confidence.
The result is likely to feel different from earlier Naruto stage adaptations. “Ninja Show” and “non-verbal” are important descriptions: readers should not assume that this is simply a dialogue-heavy play using Naruto costumes and scenery.
February–June 2027 is the confirmed window
The official Naruto materials and the production announcement currently identify a performance period of February through June 2027. Kyoto’s official tourism information also describes the event using that month-level schedule and confirms its non-verbal, effects-driven format.
At the time of writing, the available announcement does not establish:
- An exact February opening date
- Individual performance times
- Ticket prices or sales dates
- The complete cast
- Subtitle or language arrangements
- Instructions for international ticket buyers
Those details should be checked on the official Ninja Show and Minamiza channels before making travel arrangements. The February-to-June window is enough to confirm that a major Naruto event is planned, but not enough to justify claiming that every fan can attend on February 1.
The show arrives during Naruto’s 25th anime anniversary year
The timing is significant beyond the theatre production itself. TV Tokyo Holdings has discussed building global momentum for the 25th anniversary of the Naruto anime in 2027. Its corporate briefing also referred to broader anniversary-related expansion, including a theme-park project in southern France.
That corporate plan supports a cautious conclusion: 2027 is expected to be an important year for Naruto internationally, and the Kyoto show is one confirmed major event within that wider anniversary period.

It does not, however, confirm that a new anime series, film, game, or live-action project will launch on February 1. Corporate anniversary ambitions should not be treated as a release calendar.
What has not been confirmed for February 1
Fans may encounter speculation connecting February 1, 2027, with several other Naruto projects. None of the following should currently be presented as a confirmed February 1 release:
- A new Naruto television anime
- A return date for a Boruto anime project
- A new Naruto movie
- The Lionsgate Hollywood live-action film
- The postponed four-episode Naruto anniversary special
The anniversary special is a separate matter. TV Tokyo has confirmed that its broadcast timing was postponed, but the available information does not establish a new February 1 airdate. Likewise, discussion of future games, films, or anime projects should remain clearly labeled as speculation unless the relevant rights holder publishes a formal announcement.
What international fans should watch for
Anyone considering a trip to Kyoto should wait for the production to publish practical information before booking around a particular date. The most useful updates will be:

- Ticket-sale details: Check the official seller, sales phases, seating categories, and purchasing deadlines.
- Language access: Find out whether the non-verbal format is supplemented by subtitles, translated materials, or multilingual visitor guidance.
- Venue access: Review Minamiza’s current visitor information, seating arrangements, and any restrictions on photography or recording.
- Travel timing: Verify the show date before purchasing non-refundable flights, hotels, rail tickets, or travel insurance.
The absence of spoken dialogue may make the production more accessible to international audiences, but that should not be confused with a guarantee that every practical part of the visit will be language-free. Ticketing instructions, venue policies, and promotional materials may still be issued in specific languages.

Even with the date correction, February 2027 remains a meaningful moment for Naruto fans. The franchise is approaching a major anime anniversary, and an officially announced Kyoto production will bring its early story to life through acrobatics, aerial performance, projection, illusion, and traditional theatre technology.

The most accurate version of the headline is therefore not “a new Naruto anime will premiere on February 1.” It is this: Naruto is scheduled to receive a distinctive Kyoto live show beginning in February 2027, during the franchise’s 25th anime anniversary year.
That is already a substantial event. Fans should follow the official production site for the exact opening date and ticket information, while treating claims about additional February 1 releases as unconfirmed until the responsible studios or distributors announce them.
