In 2024, during the Drake–Kendrick Lamar rap feud, Google Maps users added joke labels to Drake’s home in Toronto’s Bridle Path neighborhood. A report in August quoted the label as “2024 Kendrick’s House,” following an earlier “Owned by Kendrick” label. The episode was a wave of user-generated map edits—not evidence that the claims referenced in the feud were true.
What appeared on the map
Quartz, in an article credited to Gizmodo reporter Maxwell Zeff and updated August 6, 2024, reported that Drake’s Bridle Path home had previously appeared as “Owned by Kendrick” and later as “2024 Kendrick’s House.” The article attributed notice of the change to streamer DJ Akademiks, who pointed it out in a tweet.

The house was not the only location given a joke name. Quartz cited labels including “Zesty Drake,” “kendrickownsdrake,” “Kendrick’s Pool,” and “ChildMOE-lester.” Earlier, on May 6, 2024, 404 Media reported names applied to the home and nearby places, including “Kenrick’s Dog,” “CertifiedKidLover,” and “Money trees.” These are examples reported at different times, not a count of all edits.
Why fans were changing the labels
The edits appeared amid the highly publicized rap battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. 404 Media connected the map activity to the ongoing feud and Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.” Some labels echoed insults and allegations traded in songs and online commentary. Those were claims made in the context of the feud; the map labels neither verify them nor establish anything about Drake.

Who renamed the mansion?
The coverage describes user-generated edits by fans, but does not identify who made the specific “2024 Kendrick’s House” entry. The reported discovery came from DJ Akademiks noticing the change, not from evidence that he created it. The sources also do not establish how many people contributed edits or how many total labels were added.
Does Drake’s house still appear that way on Google Maps?
The articles document snapshots from 2024, not the map’s current state. Neither source verifies whether the labels remain visible or reports a final Google moderation outcome. Quartz said Google had not immediately responded to Gizmodo’s request for comment. As a result, the historical label should not be treated as a current map listing.

How the edits were reportedly made
In its May 2024 report, 404 Media described users right-clicking a spot in Google Maps and choosing “add a new place” or “add your business.” That is the interface the publication reported at the time; it should not be assumed to describe Google Maps’ current controls. The reporting does not establish whether Google authorized these particular labels or how long any individual edit remained on the map.

The story is a small but vivid example of how a rap feud can spill into shared digital spaces: users turned map labels around a celebrity’s home into another venue for jokes and insults. But the documented evidence is limited to reported user-generated labels. It does not establish the truth of the allegations echoed by some names, the identity of every editor, the total number of edits, or their eventual removal.
