After a Red Dragon eats Laios’s younger sister, Laios returns to the dungeon with his party to attempt a rescue. They have lost their money and supplies, so he proposes an unconventional way to eat: cook the creatures they meet inside. Netflix sums up the pitch as “Dungeons, dragons … and delicious monster stew!?” in its series listing.

Comedy shares space with danger
The premise invites absurdity, yet the rescue quest supplies a serious reason for the party to keep moving. That balance lets the show shift between playful food experiments and the risks of exploring a dangerous place without making either side feel incidental.
Who made the anime?
Delicious in Dungeon adapts Ryoko Kui’s manga. The official anime site credits Yoshihiro Miyajima as director, Kimiko Ueno as story editor, Naoki Takeda as character designer and TRIGGER for animation production. Music is credited to Yasunori Mitsuda and Shunsuke Tsuchiya. BUMP OF CHICKEN performs the opening song “Sleep Walking Orchestra,” and Ryokuoushoku Shakai performs the ending song “Party!!”.

How many episodes are there, and is the anime finished?
Netflix lists the anime as a 2024 title with 24 episodes. Good Smile Company’s January 2024 announcement says its Japanese television broadcast began on January 4 across 28 stations, with simultaneous streaming on Netflix and other services in Japan. That launch information does not establish current availability in every country.
The story is continuing: Netflix Media Center currently gives season 2 an October 2027 release window on Netflix. The official anime news archive also records the season 2 production announcement. A release window can change, so check Netflix’s current listing for the latest schedule.

What to read after watching
The anime is based on Kui’s manga, making the original series the natural next step if you want more of this world. Netflix Media Center currently reports more than 14 million copies in circulation, without specifying when that threshold was reached.
