She missed 2024 and returned in the January 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble. The claim that she has not been seen in WWE is now outdated: as of October 8, 2026, WWE listings show her appearing in current programming.
Why Charlotte Flair was away from WWE
Flair’s absence followed a knee injury in late 2023. She missed all of 2024. The available reporting establishes the injury and timeline, but does not specify a diagnosis, surgery details, severity, or medical prognosis. Fightful’s account covers both her injury-related absence and her later comments about her return.
When Charlotte Flair returned
Flair returned during the January 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble, according to Fightful. That marks the end of the long absence described in coverage of her injury; it does not establish a precise number of days away.
Is Charlotte Flair still absent from WWE?
No. As of October 8, 2026, WWE’s current news listing for Charlotte Flair includes her in a SmackDown Women’s Tag Team Title challenge. WWE’s event coverage also documents her activity in September 2026. These listings show current and recent WWE appearances, but they do not establish her medical status or guarantee a future schedule.

Flair also described a character idea she pitched for her comeback. In an interview with Ringer Wrestling, quoted by Fightful, she said: “I really wanted to come back different from the knee injury. I did this whole pitch where I wanted to come back with dark hair and the black robe and be the dark evil queen.” That was a proposed creative direction, not the reason for her absence; the reported reason was her knee injury.
