There is no comparably sourced current figure for Justin Trudeau, so the available evidence does not support a definitive ranking of their wealth today. Perry also made her relationship with the former Canadian prime minister Instagram-official in a Japan-trip post widely reported in December 2025.
Who is worth more?
Forbes estimated Perry’s net worth at $340 million in 2023. That is the strongest dated figure available for this comparison, but it is not a current audited statement of her assets and liabilities. A reliable, methodologically comparable current net-worth figure for Trudeau has not been established.
Celebrity Net Worth lists Trudeau at $10 million on a page checked in 2026, but that is an online estimate, not a transparent or independently audited valuation. A 2025 Economic Times item repeats a much higher estimate attributed to another celebrity-estimate source; it does not make the figures comparable. The figures therefore cannot establish a precise wealth gap or a definitive current winner. Celebrity Net Worth’s Trudeau estimate should be read as an estimate, not a confirmed disclosure.
What supports Perry’s estimate?
Forbes linked its 2023 estimate to a reported $225 million transaction involving interests in Perry’s master recording royalties and publishing rights. The transaction value is not the same thing as her net worth: net worth accounts for a person’s overall assets and liabilities, while the reported transaction concerned music rights. Neither figure should be presented as a current audited accounting. Forbes’s 2023 report provides the estimate and transaction context.

When did Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau go Instagram-official?
Perry shared photos and video from a trip to Japan featuring the pair in December 2025. The Guardian reported on December 7 that the post made their relationship Instagram-official. Global News described moments in the shared material including a selfie, sushi, and a museum exhibit. It was a public social-media confirmation, not a detailed interview statement about their relationship. The Guardian’s report and Global News’s account describe the post.
How the relationship became public
- July 2025: The Associated Press reported that Perry and Trudeau had dinner at Montreal restaurant Le Violon. A restaurant communications consultant confirmed the dinner lasted about two hours; the consultant said staff saw no visible public affection. The dinner prompted speculation but did not confirm a relationship. The AP report gives the restaurant’s account.
- October 2025: The Guardian reported that the two appeared together publicly in Paris, where they were photographed holding hands after attending a cabaret show for Perry’s birthday. The Guardian’s chronology recounts the appearance.
- December 2025: Perry’s Japan-trip post brought the relationship into view on Instagram, with the post widely reported as making it official on social media. The Guardian and Global News covered the post.
What Trudeau’s own post said
Trudeau also reshared a photo with former Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida and Kishida’s wife, Yuko. In the X post, as quoted by The Guardian, Trudeau wrote: “Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko.” That wording publicly referred to Perry as “Katy,” but it should not be mistaken for a statement about their finances. The Guardian reported the post and quoted Trudeau.
