The reports on the August 9, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite do not support the claim that the Young Bucks unmasked Rey Fenix. They identify Penta El Zero Miedo as the wrestler whose mask was taken during an attack after the Lucha Brothers faced the Blackpool Combat Club. The Young Bucks wrestled Matt and Jeff Hardy in a separate match that night.
What happened on the August 9, 2023 episode?
After Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli defeated the Lucha Brothers—Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix—a group attack followed. Contemporary coverage identifies Penta as the wrestler whose mask was removed. Pro Wrestling Dot Net’s recap describes the match and the post-match attack; Fightful’s August 10 report explicitly names Penta in its account of the mask incident.
Where do the Young Bucks fit in?
The Young Bucks faced Matt and Jeff Hardy in a different match on the same Dynamite episode. Both the Pro Wrestling Dot Net recap and Fightful report distinguish that match from the Lucha Brothers’ encounter and the later mask incident. The available reporting therefore does not support saying that the Young Bucks unmasked Rey Fenix.
What the official episode pages confirm
AEW’s results archive and TBS’s Dynamite page provide official program context. They do not, on the pages reviewed, independently verify the exact clip or its frame-by-frame action. The specific video URL has not been established here, so the episode pages should not be treated as confirmation of a particular video segment. Viewing platforms and episode availability shown on TBS can change and may vary by region.
