FOX’s two-hour finale aired May 7, 2025, when Pearl was unmasked as the season champion.
Who was Pearl on The Masked Singer Season 13?
Pearl was Gretchen Wilson, the country singer best known for “Redneck Woman.” FOX-owned LiveNOW from FOX reported that she won the season, and TVLine’s finale recap confirmed both her identity and the result. After the reveal, Wilson said, “This is definitely something for the books.” LiveNOW from FOX’s finale report attributes the remark to her.
FOX lists the episode as Season 13, Episode 13, “The Two-Hour Lucky Season 13 Finale,” airing May 7, 2025. Its synopsis describes four finalists, four unmaskings and the final competition for the win. FOX’s episode page provides the episode details.

Country music and Dolly Parton
At Grand Ole Opry Night, Pearl told a story about being invited to share a stage with Dolly Parton and borrowing an outfit from her. That was one of the clearest country-music signals in the clue trail. Other clues and performances also drew on a broad mix of country, rock and pop material rather than sticking to one genre.
Career struggles and songwriting hints
In the “Voices of Olympus” package, Pearl described a hard exterior and a hidden “treasure,” said she had loved performing since childhood, and referred to gigs at discount stores and dive bars before a break. She also described buying red-carpet clothes on sale. Those details built a modest, hard-earned-success persona.

During Ghostbusters Night, the package used “ghostwriter” and “put pen to paper,” then told a story about a difficult home life, leaving before high school, bartending and eventual success. The writing references can be read as a nudge toward Wilson’s songwriting, but that connection is an interpretation of the show’s clues. In the finale, another package told an underdog story about a record executive writing “NO” at an audition, which turned out to mean “NOW”—“sign her now.” The program presented that anecdote; it should not be treated as independently confirmed biography.

For the finale, FOX’s episode listing names “Pink Pony Club,” “Moon River,” “Freedom! ’90” and “Stay” among its songs. TVLine reports that Pearl’s last solo before the result was “I’ll Stand by You” by The Pretenders. Those listings do not establish one definitive, complete finale set list, so the titles should not be combined into one.
Why Gretchen Wilson said she joined the show
In a May 8, 2025 interview with Parade, Wilson described the experience as a chance to find out whether she could still perform and tour. She said she had been dealing with long COVID complications and described a fall in which she broke both leg bones and shattered her ankle, followed by eight months in a cast and wheelchair. These are Wilson’s own account of her health and injury in that interview, not independent medical findings. Read the Parade interview.
Wilson also said the Pearl costume let her express a side of herself she had not shown before. She recalled being surprised by the win and said she had thought Boogie Woogie deserved it—her personal reflections after the finale, rather than production details.

FOX’s official finale page includes a Watch Now destination. What to Watch described the show as airing on FOX and streaming the next day on Hulu during the season’s original run.
