Joshua Jackson was photographed with German model Nastassja Roberts in New York on September 23, 2024, prompting questions about his relationship with Lupita Nyong’o. The sighting did not confirm that Jackson and Roberts were dating. Nyong’o later said she was single, but did not publicly specify when or why she and Jackson separated.
Who was Joshua Jackson seen with?
Contemporaneous coverage identified the woman as Nastassja Roberts, a German model. Yahoo Entertainment reported on September 24, 2024, that Jackson had been photographed with Roberts in New York the previous day, shortly before the New York premiere of Grotesquerie. Yahoo Entertainment’s report described the sighting as raising questions about Jackson and Nyong’o, not as proof of a new relationship.
The South China Morning Post profiled Roberts on September 29 and referred to her as a rumored new flame, using tentative language rather than confirming a romance. Its profile of Roberts likewise does not establish that the two were a couple.
Did the sighting confirm that Jackson and Roberts were dating?
No. Being photographed together established that they were seen together; it did not establish the nature of their relationship. The contemporary reports framed the romantic interpretation as speculation. Calling Roberts Jackson’s “new girlfriend” or saying that the sighting confirmed a romance goes beyond what those reports support.

What did Lupita Nyong’o say about being single?
In an interview published by Harper’s Bazaar UK on October 9, 2024, Nyong’o spoke about being single and the possibility of a future relationship. E! News reported her remark, “My love for my cat is singular,” followed by: “If I’m ever so lucky to be in a romantic relationship again, it’ll be because of him.” The comment was about her affection for her cat and her openness to a future romance; it was not a detailed explanation of her separation from Jackson. E! News’ account of the interview reports those remarks.
When did Jackson and Nyong’o split?
The cited coverage does not establish a specific separation date or reason. A People relationship timeline excerpt republished by Yahoo notes that Nyong’o did not say when or why she and Jackson went their separate ways. The September sighting with Roberts is not evidence of when the earlier relationship ended or what caused it. Yahoo’s relationship timeline covers the sighting and Nyong’o’s single-status remarks without supplying those details.
