How were the young leads chosen?
The open casting call began in September 2024. In December, Mylod reported that the team had seen 30,000 young actors trying out, according to the official announcement. That figure describes young actors seen by the team; it should not be read as a confirmed count of total applicants, finalists, or completed auditions.
What is the HBO series adapting?
The series is an adaptation of the Harry Potter books. The announcement describes it as a faithful adaptation and names Gardiner as writer and executive producer, with Mylod as executive producer and director of multiple episodes. HBO, Brontë Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television are listed in the production arrangement.
