What the ceremony was—and who had other roles
The opening ceremony took place on February 6, 2026, at Milan’s San Siro Olympic Stadium. Its theme was “Armonia,” or harmony. The official programme described a multi-location celebration connecting Milan, Cortina and competition venues, with a focus on Italian culture, creativity, beauty and imagination. The IOC’s announcement gives the date and theme; the official ceremony programme explains the event’s framing.
