The available official reporting is brief and does not offer a full celebrity-style relationship timeline. That limited coverage is important: claims about an exact anniversary, a breakup, an engagement or a wedding are not established by the sources reviewed for this article.
How did Oscar Piastri meet Lily Zneimer?
Oscar Piastri met Lily Zneimer at boarding school in England. Piastri moved from Melbourne to the United Kingdom as a teenager to pursue European motorsport, and Formula 1 says the two met during his school years.
In Formula 1’s Off The Grid feature, Piastri described the difficulty of leaving home for school, saying: for most kids, the idea of living at school sounds torturous. But I knew I had to suck it up
. The remark was published by Formula 1 on November 18, 2025, in a feature about his life away from racing.
The same official feature says that Piastri met his girlfriend Lily while growing up at the English boarding school. Formula 1’s later biographical account of Piastri’s journey likewise places their meeting during his time at school.
What is the confirmed relationship timeline?
The confirmed timeline is limited to the period when Piastri was attending school in England and the continuing descriptions of Zneimer as his girlfriend or partner in official Formula 1 coverage.
| Stage | What the public record establishes | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Piastri’s move to Britain | Piastri moved from Melbourne to the United Kingdom as a teenager to pursue European motorsport. | Formula 1 biography, March 6, 2026 |
| School years | Piastri attended boarding school in England. | Formula 1, November 18, 2025 and March 6, 2026 |

| Career progression | Formula 1 described Zneimer as a continuing presence alongside Piastri. | Formula 1 biography, March 6, 2026 |
Neither of the reviewed official sources gives an exact date for when the relationship began. The sources also do not confirm an anniversary, engagement, marriage or wedding. A precise answer to “How long have Oscar Piastri and Lily Zneimer been together?” would therefore go beyond the available evidence.
What does Lily Zneimer do?
The strongest public evidence about Lily Zneimer’s background beyond her relationship with Piastri is an academic publication. A University of Birmingham research record lists “L. Zneimer” among the authors of Characterization of Ti-6Al-4V Bar for Aerospace Fastener Pin Axial Forging, a 2024 Materials Plus paper.
The research concerns the behavior and processing of Ti-6Al-4V, a titanium alloy, including material characterization, forgeability, microstructure and mechanical testing. The University of Birmingham repository copy of the paper places the listed authors in the university’s School of Metallurgy & Materials. The paper’s publication record says it was received on January 26, 2024, revised on February 28, 2024, and accepted on March 4, 2024.

That evidence supports describing Zneimer as a listed co-author associated with engineering and materials research. It does not by itself establish that she is currently an engineer, an engineering graduate, a current University of Birmingham student, or an employee of a particular company. Her current job title, employer, salary, age and future career plans are not confirmed by the research record.
What is known and unknown about Lily Zneimer?
Official Formula 1 coverage and the university research record support some facts, while leaving other personal details private.

Why is so little known about their relationship?
Oscar Piastri and Lily Zneimer appear to maintain a deliberately private relationship. Formula 1’s official articles acknowledge Zneimer and explain how she entered Piastri’s life, but they do not publish a detailed account of the couple’s private routine or relationship history.
Privacy also creates an evidence boundary. An isolated photograph, an unverified social-media post or an entertainment report may suggest a claim, but suggestion is not confirmation. For relationship status, dates and personal background, official statements and institutional records should carry more weight than fan accounts or unsourced posts.
