Meena Harris is the daughter of Maya Harris, which makes her the niece of Vice President Kamala Harris. Beyond that family tie, she is a lawyer, author and entrepreneur, and the founder of Phenomenal, a media and consumer brand. Her own career, rather than her aunt’s, is the more useful place to start.
The family connection
Meena Harris’s mother is Maya Harris, and Maya is Kamala Harris’s sister. Good Morning America’s family profile describes Meena as Maya’s only child and Kamala’s niece. Harvard Law School’s alumni profile independently refers to Kamala as her aunt, so the relationship is consistent across both sources.
Her professional identity
Her publisher and booking agency describe her in similar terms. Hachette’s Australian author page lists her as a lawyer, entrepreneur, author and founder of Phenomenal. CAA Speakers, the speaking-engagement arm of the agency CAA, describes her as a lawyer, author, and founder and CEO of Phenomenal Media. Those are current public descriptions. They do not spell out her day-to-day responsibilities.
Phenomenal
CAA frames Phenomenal as a media company, consumer brand and creative agency. A 2022 program from the National Women’s Law Center described Harris as Phenomenal’s founder and CEO and noted that the company had co-produced the Broadway musical A Strange Loop. That is evidence of a past creative project, not a statement about what the company is producing now. The Los Angeles Times’s 2021 coverage of Phenomenal’s branding is discussed in its own section below.

Education and earlier roles
Harvard Law School’s 2019 profile identifies Harris as a 2012 graduate of the law school. It records that she served as a senior adviser on policy and communications for her aunt’s 2016 U.S. Senate campaign. The same profile says she founded the Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign, served on San Francisco’s Commission on the Status of Women, and was then Uber’s head of strategy and leadership. Because the profile dates to 2019, those are roles she held at that time, not necessarily her current positions. CAA’s biography also summarizes experience at Facebook and Slack, which it presents as career background.

Harris writes for young readers. The publisher, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, lists these titles:

In her own words
In a Harvard Law School alumni interview, Harris said: “There’s a certain intensity on the East Coast that was new for me, but it’s something I really came to love.” The remark is a personal reflection on her time studying on the East Coast after growing up in California. It is not a broader statement about either region.

Phenomenal and the 2021 branding question
In February 2021, the Los Angeles Times reported on scrutiny of branding connected to Phenomenal and its link to Kamala Harris’s public role. The article quoted a company statement that Phenomenal would remove Kamala Harris’s likeness from its products and campaigns going forward. That reporting describes a specific moment. It does not establish what Phenomenal sells or does today, and it should not be read as a current product line.
