Queen Aminata has the clearest immediate opportunity: AEW lists her as challenging Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné at Grand Slam France. For a broader babyface lead, Willow Nightingale is a strong candidate; Mina Shirakawa also has storyline potential if current television presents her as a sympathetic protagonist. None is a one-for-one replacement for Toni Storm, whose distinctive character and four-time championship history left a particular kind of space in the division.
What Storm’s absence leaves behind
Storm remains listed on AEW’s roster, but the available official material does not explain her absence or confirm a return date. AEW’s Toni Storm biography identifies her as the first four-time AEW Women’s World Champion and notes that she began her golden-age Hollywood persona in September 2023. That record and character make a direct imitation an unhelpful standard for whoever steps forward: the division needs a compelling lead and a strong title story, not another “Timeless” act.
Who has the strongest case to step up?
Queen Aminata: the clearest immediate title opportunity
AEW’s news listing names Aminata as Moné’s challenger for the Women’s World Championship at Grand Slam France. That is the most concrete current booking signal among these candidates and makes Aminata the clearest choice for an immediate step up. A title challenge creates an opportunity; it does not by itself establish that AEW intends her to become the division’s lead babyface.
Willow Nightingale: the broadest babyface case
Willow is on AEW’s current roster and has a strong case as a crowd-connected protagonist. In a March 23, 2026 analysis, PWTorch contributor Sean Radican argued that she had audience support and recent momentum to lead, while also noting that she could headline a separate program. That is a columnist’s assessment, not an official ranking or an objective measure of audience response. Her candidacy depends on what current television is doing with her and whether AEW gives her a consequential program.

Mina Shirakawa: an audience connection with room for a major story
Mina is also listed on AEW’s roster. Radican’s March analysis described her connection with fans as organic and argued she could carry a major program; those are qualitative judgments, not published audience statistics. Her fit as a babyface should be judged from her latest television alignment and booking rather than assumed from an older assessment.
Other names, with conditions
- Kris Statlander and Thunder Rosa: Both are established roster names with prior top-of-card experience. Radican set them aside for a particular proposed matchup because of their earlier programs with Thekla; that was a choice for that scenario, not a general reason to rule them out.
- Harley Cameron: Radican also recommended her, but whether she fits a strictly babyface role depends on her current presentation on television.
- Anna Jay: A July Wrestling Inc. report said Tony Khan had described her as injured and recently having an MRI. That report is dated and does not establish her present availability, so it is not a sound basis for calling her an immediate option now.
How to judge the next lead
A plausible successor to a prominent role needs more than a familiar name. The useful distinction is between a confirmed opportunity and a projection about who could make the most of one:

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Current booking: Aminata has the cited title-match signal. For the other names, look for a current title path or sustained high-profile program rather than treating past momentum as present positioning.
- Babyface credibility: Alignments change. Check the latest television before describing a wrestler as a current babyface.
- Audience connection: Willow’s and Mina’s cases include PWTorch contributor analysis. No comparable attendance, ratings, or audience-response figure from its original owner is established here.
- Availability: Recent matches and official announcements matter more than older health reports. An old report is not proof of current medical status.
- Character and program fit: Storm’s act was distinctive. A new lead should have a character and title story that suit her, rather than being measured by how closely she reproduces Storm.
Bottom line: opportunity first, projection second
Aminata has the clearest cited opportunity because AEW lists her title challenge against Moné. Willow is the strongest broad babyface projection in the cited commentary, with Mina another credible possibility if her current alignment and booking support it. The division’s next lead will be determined by what AEW puts on television—not by any single roster listing or outside ranking.
