Seven named buyer’s agent Simon Cohen, interior designer Rosie Morley and renovation expert Lana Taylor as the judges of Dream Home in its 2024 announcement. Hosted by Dr Chris Brown, the competition paired six teams of everyday Australians to renovate suburban family homes.
Who are the Dream Home judges?
The judging panel brought together three different professional perspectives: buying property, shaping interior spaces and carrying out residential renovations. Seven announced the line-up on 2 March 2024.
| Judge | Professional background in the announcement | Judging perspective |
|---|---|---|
| Simon Cohen | Buyer’s agent associated with Cohen Handler | Property acquisition and the buyer’s perspective |
| Rosie Morley | Interior designer associated with Hassell | Interior design and the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces |
| Lana Taylor | Co-owner of Three Birds Renovations | Residential renovation planning and practical execution |
These are complementary lenses, not a ranking of the judges or a measure of who had the greatest influence on the competition.
What did each judge bring to the show?
Simon Cohen: property buying
Cohen’s background as a buyer’s agent gave the panel a property-acquisition perspective. In Seven’s announcement, he said: “I’m thrilled to be part of Dream Home. The stakes are high in any competition, but when it comes to your own home, the sky’s the limit.”

Her statement in the announcement emphasized designing around homeowners’ lives: “Designing a home is a true responsibility to elevate the everyday life of the homeowner. It is about translating the lives of the owners and imbuing this into their environment.”
Lana Taylor: renovation planning
Taylor, co-owner of Three Birds Renovations, brought residential renovation experience to the panel. In Seven’s 2024 first-look coverage, she advised viewers to plan, make a vision board and stick to it. Seven also attributed this observation to her: “Knowledge is power, and I think people underestimate just how many decisions they’re going to have to make.”
