What was the song responding to?
The immediate exchange intensified on May 3, when Lamar released “6:16 in LA” and Drake released “Family Matters.” Lamar then put out “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us”; Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” followed two days later. The Associated Press’ chronology and Pitchfork’s release report describe the track as Drake’s answer to Lamar’s latest songs.
What did Drake say in “The Heart Part 6”?
Drake rejects Lamar’s accusations, including the claim that Drake has a secret daughter. In the track, Drake says he deliberately planted false information about a daughter, presenting that as an explanation for the accusation. That is Drake’s claim in the song; the cited reporting does not independently establish that such misinformation was planted.
