A club overview also lists actor Daniel Mays, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and Colin Matthews as notable fans, but the available sources do not establish that all five attend matches regularly.
Which famous people support Leyton Orient?
The five names most often associated with the club are Bob Mills, Daniel Mays, Colin Matthews, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Julian Lloyd Webber. The evidence is not equally strong: the supporters’ club magazine specifically identifies Mills and Julian Lloyd Webber as celebrity supporters, while the other three are listed in a secondary club overview.
| Name | Known for | What is reported about the Orient connection |
|---|---|---|
| Bob Mills | Comedian and broadcaster | Named as a celebrity supporter in the Leyton Orient Supporters Club magazine and listed in the club overview. |
| Julian Lloyd Webber | Cellist | Named as a celebrity supporter in the supporters’ club magazine and listed in the club overview. |
| Daniel Mays | Actor | Listed as a notable fan in the club overview; the cited sources do not include a direct statement from Mays. |
| Andrew Lloyd Webber | Composer and theatrical producer | Listed as a notable fan in the club overview. An Orient-related bet with his brother Julian is associated with his composition Variations, but that anecdote does not establish regular attendance. |
| Colin Matthews | Not stated in the cited overview | Listed as a notable fan in the club overview, which does not explain the basis for the association. |
The Leyton Orient F.C. overview is a secondary source. The additional supporters’ club magazine corroboration applies specifically to Mills and Julian Lloyd Webber; it should not be read as equivalent evidence for every name on the list.
Why are Julian and Andrew Lloyd Webber linked to Orient?
The brothers’ connection offers a striking intersection of football and music. An Orient result figured in a bet between Julian, a cellist, and Andrew, a composer, which led Andrew to write Variations. That story helps explain the association, but by itself it does not show how often either brother attends matches.

What does “supporter” establish here?
A name appearing in a club overview or supporters’ publication establishes a reported association, not a documented attendance record. For Mills and Julian Lloyd Webber, the supporters’ club magazine provides an additional public attribution. For Mays, Matthews and Andrew Lloyd Webber, the cited basis here is the secondary overview, and no direct statement from them is included in these sources.
Eddie Hearn is another public figure connected to Leyton Orient, but in a different capacity. A FourFourTwo interview reports that he served on the club’s board and as vice-chairman during his father’s ownership. Those governance roles do not, on their own, establish that he is a supporter.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The organized fan community behind the famous names
The Leyton Orient Supporters Club describes itself as the club’s official supporters’ club and provides information about club history, events and away travel. Its public account also reports 17 CAMRA East London Club of the Year wins and says the club received the CAMRA Golden Award on 8 October 2021. These figures are the supporters’ club’s own account, not an independent CAMRA tally cited here.
The supporters’ club reproduces the Golden Award certificate’s description of the club as “for standing the test of time, being convivial, characterful and community focused, and consistently pouring a great pint”. The page does not identify an individual speaker.
