Premier League’s 2026 roundup also reports that Crowe narrated the club’s 2019 Amazon Prime docuseries and now owns a minority stake. It does not state the stake’s size or terms.

What was Russell Crowe’s connection to Leeds in 2015?
In March 2015, amid speculation that Crowe might be interested in buying the then-Championship club, BBC Sport reported that a Leeds supporters’ group wanted to meet him. Dylan Thwaites, a representative of Leeds Fans LLP, described Crowe as a Leeds fan and said the group wanted to hear about his experience with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. The BBC also reported that Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino had said the club was not for sale. BBC Sport’s report from 3 March 2015 documents a proposed meeting and contemporary speculation—not a completed purchase. The Premier League’s later account describes Crowe as a minority stakeholder, but gives no further terms.
Is Russell Crowe connected to the Leeds United documentary?
Yes. The Premier League says Crowe narrated Leeds United’s 2019 Amazon Prime docuseries. Narrating the series is a media role; it is separate from his longstanding support and minority stake.

Does appearing at a Leeds event prove someone is a fan?
No. Leeds United reported on 9 July 2026 that musicians Kerr Mercer and Jacob Alon represented the club at Roundhay Festival by wearing its new 2026/27 away shirt. That event appearance is not, by itself, evidence that either musician supports Leeds, so they are not included in the celebrity-fan list. Leeds United’s festival report describes the representation.
