The Beast in Me was filmed primarily in New Jersey. The New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission names a Kearny production base and locations in Peapack & Gladstone, Bayonne, Newark, Red Bank and Westfield. TV Guide separately reports additional filming in New Jersey and Raleigh, North Carolina, so the available accounts do not support saying the series was filmed exclusively in New Jersey.
New Jersey locations confirmed by the state film commission
The New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission’s 2024 annual report says production filmed around northern and central New Jersey. It identifies these sites and areas:

- Mile End Stages, Kearny Point Industrial Complex: the production base.
- Blairsden Manor, Peapack & Gladstone: a named filming location.
- G. Thomas DiDominico 16th Street Park, Bayonne: a named filming location.
- Branch Brook Park, Newark: a named filming location.
- Downtown Red Bank: a named filming area.
- Tamaques Reservation, Westfield: a named filming location.
The commission lists these places but does not connect each one to a specific scene. Its account also uses “including,” so the list should not be treated as a complete map of every filming site.
Newark streets reported as filming locations
Destination Newark’s Winter 2025 publication reports filming on Washington Street, Frelinghuysen Avenue, Mulberry Street, Poinier Street, Halsey Street, Broad Street and Branford Place, as well as other Newark sites. These street names add detail to the state commission’s mention of Newark, but they come from the local destination publication rather than the commission’s annual report. Destination Newark

Other locations reported by TV Guide
A November 16, 2025 TV Guide location report lists filming in Red Bank, Newark, Jersey City, Cranford, Westfield and Belleville, and reports supporting scenes in Raleigh, North Carolina. It also names places including 26 West on the Navesink, the Molly Pitcher Inn, Dreyer Farms, Carewell Health Medical Centre, Essex County Airport and the National Newark Building.
Those more granular locations and TV Guide’s proposed scene connections are secondary reporting. The New Jersey commission’s report does not confirm those site-by-site scene assignments, so they are best understood as TV Guide’s account, not as an official production location guide.

Where does the story take place?
Real filming locations are not necessarily the same as the characters’ fictional addresses. Netflix describes the series as following author Aggie Wiggs, played by Claire Danes, and her new neighbor Nile Jarvis, played by Matthew Rhys; its series page does not establish that the New Jersey locations above are the characters’ precise story setting. Production in New Jersey, post-production in New York
Producer Sean Sforza summarized the production geography in an interview: “Production was in New Jersey, and the rest of editorial and post were in New York.” He said production ran from September 2024 through February 2025. His comments support the broad New Jersey production picture, but do not provide a complete town-by-town location list. Producer Sean Sforza interview
