The 2023 film BlackBerry is listed in the U.S. on Apple TV, Google’s movie storefront and Prime Video. Google and Prime show separate rental and purchase options; a listing in the Apple TV app does not by itself mean the film is included with Apple TV+. Prices and subscription access vary by account and location and can change.

Quick answer: If you want to watch once, the U.S. listings checked showed a $3.99 rental on Google Play and a $3.99 UHD rental on Prime Video. Google showed a $12.99 purchase, while Prime showed a $9.99 UHD purchase. These are observed prices, not guaranteed current offers. Apple TV lists the film, but the available listing did not establish a reliable price or Apple TV+ inclusion. Check the final offer in your account before paying.

Service Access shown in U.S. listing Observed price Subscription note
Apple TV Film storefront listing Price not confirmed in the available listing A listing in the Apple TV app does not confirm Apple TV+ inclusion.
Google Play / Google TV Rent or buy $3.99 rent; $12.99 buy Transactional prices shown; check the offer in your region.
Prime Video Rent or buy; UHD options shown $3.99 UHD rent; $9.99 UHD buy Prime Video availability does not mean the film is included with an Amazon Prime membership.

Prices above were observed in U.S. listings around August 1–16, 2026. Storefronts can change prices and available quality tiers, and may show different offers by country, account or device.

What to expect on each platform

Apple TV

Apple’s listing identifies the 2023 IFC Films feature, directed by Matt Johnson, with a runtime of about two hours. Search for BlackBerry in the Apple TV app and check the film details and checkout screen. Apple TV is the storefront and app; that is not the same as proof that a title is included with the Apple TV+ subscription.

Google Play and Google TV

The Google movie listing showed $3.99 to rent and $12.99 to buy in the U.S. The film may appear under Google Play Movies or Google TV branding depending on your device and interface. Google says it can be watched in a browser or on supported devices; confirm playback compatibility and the displayed price before purchasing.

Prime Video

The Prime Video listing showed a $3.99 UHD rental and a $9.99 UHD purchase, and identified AMC+ and Sundance Now as subscription routes. Treat the rent-or-buy options as separate from an Amazon Prime membership: a film appearing on Prime Video is not automatically included in Prime. Check the selected version, quality, price and any channel terms before confirming.

Is it included with a subscription?

Not necessarily. Google and Prime’s displayed offers are transactional rentals or purchases, and the Apple listing alone does not establish subscription inclusion. A U.S. JustWatch snapshot checked August 1, 2026 listed subscription availability through services including Netflix, Philo, AMC+, the AMC+ Apple TV Channel, YouTube TV and Sundance Now. Catalogs change, so use JustWatch’s U.S. page as a discovery aid, then confirm the film on the service itself. The title page or checkout screen is the best guide to what your account can watch now.

If you already subscribe to a service that currently includes the film, that may be the simplest option. Starting a monthly subscription solely for one film may cost more than a one-time rental; compare the subscription’s renewal terms and cancellation date with the rental price.

Rent or buy?

  • Rent if you expect to watch once. Rentals usually have a limited viewing period after playback begins; the exact start and completion windows are platform-specific, so read the checkout terms.
  • Buy if you expect to rewatch it or want it in a retailer-linked digital library. A digital purchase is generally a license associated with your account, not ownership of a physical file; access can depend on account region and retailer terms.
  • Use a subscription you already have if its current catalog confirms the film is included. Do not assume the title is free: the subscription fee still applies.

On the observed U.S. offers, Google and Prime both showed a $3.99 rental. Prime’s displayed purchase price was lower than Google’s, but this comparison is only a snapshot and the Prime offer specified UHD. A third-party tracker showed a different Amazon rental price, illustrating why the service’s own current checkout screen should decide your purchase.

Make sure you have the feature film

This guide is about BlackBerry, the 2023 feature directed by Matt Johnson—not the smartphone brand as a product listing and not the separate three-episode limited-series version. The film stars Jay Baruchel as Mike Lazaridis, Glenn Howerton as Jim Balsillie and Matt Johnson as Doug Fregin. It dramatizes the rise and collapse of the BlackBerry smartphone business. It is rated R in U.S. listings and runs about two hours; catalogues may show slightly different runtimes.

When searching, confirm the year, cast and feature-film runtime before selecting a result. That helps avoid opening the series listing, whose episode format and availability are different.

How to check the offer before you watch

  1. Open the service’s app or website for your country.
  2. Search for BlackBerry (2023) and confirm the cast and feature-film details.
  3. Choose the option you want: rental, purchase or an eligible subscription.
  4. Before confirming, review the total price, video quality, captions/audio options, playback compatibility and—if subscribing—renewal and cancellation terms.

Availability note: The prices and subscription services above are U.S.-specific observations from around August 1–16, 2026, not a promise of what every viewer will see. Rights, prices, formats and catalogue inclusion vary by country and may change.
