The headline refers to Mission: Impossible, but its timing and box-office wording need correcting. The first five films joined Starz on November 1, 2025. The bigger current U.S. streaming development is that Paramount+ later listed all eight theatrical films—including The Final Reckoning—in one place.
The headline refers to Mission: Impossible, the Tom Cruise-led spy-action franchise—not Top Gun. The first five films joined Starz on November 1, 2025, which is what “this month” meant in the original headline. That is no longer the most useful streaming update: Paramount+ subsequently added Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, making all eight theatrical films available together on Paramount+ in the United States.
There is also an important correction to the money claim. The roughly $1.5 billion figure is associated with Top Gun: Maverick, not the cumulative box-office total of the Mission: Impossible films. Paramount said the Mission: Impossible movies had earned more than $4 billion worldwide by February 2024, before the eighth film’s later theatrical run.
Where to stream all eight Mission: Impossible films
For U.S. viewers, Paramount+ is currently the clearest one-service destination for the complete film saga. Paramount+ announced that The Final Reckoning would begin streaming in the United States and Canada on December 4, 2025. Its January 8, 2026 franchise guide listed all eight movies as streaming on Paramount+.

The best order for a first-time marathon
Watch the films in theatrical release order. Unlike some long-running franchises, Mission: Impossible does not require a complicated chronology, and the character relationships and escalating threats make more sense when seen in sequence.
- Mission: Impossible (1996): Brian De Palma’s more contained espionage thriller introduces Ethan Hunt and the Impossible Missions Force, or IMF. It is built around suspicion, betrayal and one of the series’ defining covert-operation set pieces.
- Mission: Impossible 2 (2000): John Woo gives the sequel a more stylized action-film identity, with a rogue-agent plot, bioweapon threat and a heightened emphasis on motorcycle chases and martial-arts-influenced combat.
- Mission: Impossible III (2006): J.J. Abrams shifts the focus toward Ethan’s personal life and introduces a particularly threatening villain in Owen Davian. The movie also establishes several relationships that help the later films feel like a continuing series rather than disconnected missions.
- Ghost Protocol (2011): Brad Bird expands the scale, including the Burj Khalifa sequence, while bringing the IMF team dynamic further to the foreground.
- Rogue Nation (2015): The first film directed by Christopher McQuarrie introduces the Syndicate and begins the run of closely connected stories that continues through the final two movies.
- Fallout (2018): The consequences of earlier choices catch up with Ethan and the IMF as they try to prevent a catastrophic attack. It continues the story threads and character dynamics established in Rogue Nation.
- Dead Reckoning (2023): Also marketed theatrically with “Part One” in its title, the film introduces the Entity, an artificial-intelligence threat capable of penetrating intelligence networks around the world.
- The Final Reckoning (2025): The eighth film continues Ethan’s pursuit of the Entity and Gabriel, the antagonist connected to the preceding story. It is the latest chapter, rather than a standalone reboot.
What is The Final Reckoning about?
The Final Reckoning picks up the Entity storyline from Dead Reckoning. The Entity has infiltrated intelligence networks worldwide, and Ethan Hunt and the IMF are trying to prevent it from becoming an uncontrollable global threat.
Amazon’s official synopsis describes Ethan receiving a message from President Erika Sloane after the Entity seizes control of global nuclear systems, while Ethan continues pursuing Gabriel. That setup makes Dead Reckoning the most important film to watch immediately beforehand, although the full release-order marathon provides the clearest understanding of Ethan’s history and the IMF team.

Can you watch the films on Prime Video?
Prime Video is a second route, but it should not be described as though all eight films are automatically included with a standard Prime membership. Amazon’s availability varies by title and account: films may be available through Prime access, individual rental or purchase, or a Paramount+ channel subscription.
The Final Reckoning is available for purchase on Prime Video, with Amazon’s cited listing showing a $19.99 purchase price. A Prime membership is not required to buy it. Prices and access can change, so treat that figure as a listing observed by the source rather than a permanent price.
If you only want to watch one film, renting or buying may be cheaper than adding a subscription. If you want all eight at once, Paramount+ is the more straightforward option according to the current U.S. franchise listing.

Streaming versus owning the movies
A subscription is convenient for a marathon, but physical media avoids the problem of a film disappearing when a licensing agreement changes. The trade-off is that the documented collections do not all contain the same number of films.
For a larger set, look for the Mission: Impossible 6-Movie Collection 4K UHD Blu-ray. It contains six films, not the complete eight-film saga, so buyers should check which installments are included before ordering. The newest movie is also available separately as The Final Reckoning 4K Blu-ray, following its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD home-media release.
There is also a documented older Mission: Impossible Blu-ray collection covering four films: the 1996 original, Mission: Impossible 2, Mission: Impossible III and Ghost Protocol. It can be an alternative for viewers interested in the earlier era of the franchise, but it is not a complete collection and does not include the later McQuarrie films.
The home-media release record lists The Final Reckoning as arriving digitally for purchase or rental on August 19, 2025, followed by 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD releases on October 14, 2025. Retail stock and pricing are retailer-specific.

Why the Starz headline needs updating
The Starz development was real, but it was a temporary licensing event from November 2025. Reports at the time identified the first five films—through Rogue Nation—among Starz’s featured titles. It did not mean that all eight films had arrived there, and it should not be presented as a new August 2026 launch.
The more significant development came later: Paramount+ added the eighth film and presented the full theatrical series in one place. That distinction matters for anyone searching for a complete marathon, because stopping at a report about Starz can leave readers with an outdated or incomplete picture of where the saga is available.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the franchise is—and what it is not
The films are based on Mission: Impossible, the television series created by Bruce Geller in 1966. The movie series retains the IMF concept but has developed its own identity around Ethan Hunt, practical action sequences, shifting spy alliances and increasingly interconnected stories.
It is also separate from Cruise’s Top Gun films. Top Gun: Maverick is the movie associated with the approximately $1.5 billion worldwide box-office figure. Using that number as the Mission: Impossible franchise total would materially understate the series’ reported performance and incorrectly merge two different Paramount properties.

Bottom line for viewers
If you are in the United States and want the entire eight-film series, start by checking Paramount+. The first five films’ Starz arrival was a November 2025 event, while the current headline-worthy development is Paramount+’s later complete-saga availability. Prime Video remains useful for individual rentals and purchases, including The Final Reckoning, but a Prime membership alone does not guarantee access to every film.
For the most reliable long-term collection, compare the exact contents of a six-film 4K set, the standalone The Final Reckoning release and older four-film Blu-ray collections. No physical set mentioned here should be assumed to contain all eight films without checking its listing.
