Rachael Ray said in a March 2026 Associated Press interview that her health was fine. She also described a busy life in food television, production, product businesses and humanitarian work. That is Ray’s own account—not an independent medical assessment. Since ending her daily daytime show after 17 seasons, she has pursued food projects across several platforms and made Italy a larger part of her life.
Is Rachael Ray sick?
In an interview published March 5, 2026, Ray told The Associated Press: “My health is fine. I lift weights every morning, 4 o’clock, you know. I’m doing just fine.” That is her self-reported description of her health. The AP did not report an independent clinical assessment, diagnosis or medical records, so the interview does not establish a medical conclusion beyond what Ray said. Online concern or speculation is not evidence of an illness. The Associated Press interview
Where is Rachael Ray now?
Ray has moved much of her life to Italy, according to the AP. The move followed a fire that destroyed her upstate New York home and flooding that damaged her city apartment. She remains professionally active in the United States, with food programming and production work distributed across multiple platforms.
The AP also reported that Ray planned an eighth humanitarian trip to Ukraine and had collaborated with José Andrés on earlier trips. The March 2026 report described the trip as a plan, not a completed journey.

What is Rachael Ray doing now?
Producing food television beyond her former daytime show
Ray created Free Food Studios, and the AP reported that A&E acquired a 50% stake in the company. Her program “Meals in Minutes” was renewed for more than 100 new episodes, and two additional shows featuring other stars were in production at the time of the March 2026 interview. These details reflect the status reported then.
Ray said her content rotates among YouTube, A&E, Disney and Hulu, which can make it harder for viewers to find. Platform catalogs change, so availability may differ over time.

Building a different kind of career after daytime television
Paramount/CBS Media Ventures announced in March 2023 that original production of “Rachael Ray” would end at the close of its 17th season. Ray said she wanted to develop culinary talent on platforms outside the traditional distribution model. In the AP interview, she described leaving the network and syndicated format this way: “I just didn’t want to do that anymore. I didn’t want to live by committee.”
She also explained what she wanted from the next phase: “I wanted to focus more on food the way I want to teach it, talking to people I want to talk to, and being just me.” The announcement at the time set out her intention to introduce and develop new culinary talent across platforms. Continuing food, product and charitable work
The AP reported that Ray had recently launched her own gin and continued selling cookware and pet foods. It did not identify the gin brand or specific product models. The AP also reported that pet-food sales help fund The Rachael Ray Foundation, which had donated $140 million to animal-welfare and nutritional-advocacy groups by the time of that interview.
Why did Rachael Ray leave her daytime show?
Ray’s show ended as she chose to move away from the daily syndicated format and pursue food projects with more control over their creation and distribution. Paramount/CBS Media Ventures announced the end of original production in 2023, after 17 seasons. Ray’s stated goal was to focus on food and develop emerging culinary talent across platforms rather than continue under the traditional rules of distribution.

How to understand the health headlines
The clearest available answer is limited but direct: Ray said her health was fine in the March 2026 AP interview. The report does not supply an independent medical assessment, and it does not establish whether she has any medical condition beyond that statement. Her work schedule and exercise comment are part of her account, not medical proof.
